The Analytical Ability section was rated easy to moderate by most students. Questions from blood relations, number series, and alphabet series were straightforward and less time-consuming. Data sufficiency and arrangement-based problems required careful interpretation and consumed more time compared to other topics. Shape-based and reasoning questions were concept-driven and manageable for candidates with regular aptitude practice. Overall, the section had a balanced topic distribution and offered good scoring opportunities.
Mathematical Ability turned out to be the most difficult section in TS ICET 2026 Shift 1. Arithmetic questions were comparatively manageable and formed a major portion of the paper. However, algebra and mensuration problems were lengthy, calculation-intensive, and challenging for many candidates. Geometry and shape-based questions were moderate in difficulty, while a few questions were reportedly close to Class 12 level concepts.
