IBSAT 2025 Selection Procedure: Overview

As per the latest notification released by the IBS, selected candidates must attend the micro-presentation round instead of GD. The micro-presentation is an IBSAT selection procedure to analyse the communication skills, presentation skills, and ability to think quickly and effectively of the candidate in any situation. The total time allotted for the presentation is 4 minutes, i.e., 1 minute for preparation and 3 minutes for delivering the presentation.

IBS Selection Procedure 2025: Key Facts

The IBS selection procedure 2025 usually consists of two stages:

• First Stage: The first stage of the IBSAT 2025 is the shortlist of candidates based on the score of IBSAT 2025 and other national-level MBA entrance exams.
  
  
• Second Stage: In the second stage, micro-presentation and PI rounds are conducted. Shortlisted candidates will appear for the presentation round and personal interviews conducted by the IBSAT colleges. The final merit list for admission will then be prepared by ICFAI Business School based on the candidate's IBSAT score and performance in the presentation and personal interview round.

Candidates who will have a valid score in the IBSAT exam 2025 or CAT/ XAT/ NMAT by GMAC/ GMAT are eligible to participate in the IBS selection procedure 2025. After the declaration of the IBSAT result, the authority will begin the IBSAT selection briefing round, in which they will describe the entire process of the IBS 2025 selection procedure and answer all the queries of participating candidates.

IBS Dates for MBA Selection Process

To get shortlisted on the merit list, candidates must clear both stages of the IBS selection process. Candidates who clear the IBSAT 2025 exam will be called to participate in the micro-presentation and personal interview (PI) rounds. Passing the IBSAT 2025 entrance test does not guarantee admission to the candidates. Candidates have to qualify for the presentation and PI rounds, which will be held by the ICFAI Business School.

Personal Interview (PI)

As part of the personal interview, each candidate will be interviewed for 5-7 minutes. The interview panel focuses on assessing the candidate's temperament and aspirations and assesses their general knowledge, communication skills, clarity of thought and expression, and potential for a career in management.

Micro-Presentation (MP)

The micro-presentation component aims to provide a focused assessment of a candidate's communication and presentation skills, as well as their ability to organise their thinking and thoughts quickly.

Process:

• Candidates will select a number between 1 and 100. Each number corresponds to a pre-assigned topic.
• On selecting the number, the candidate will be given the corresponding title.
• They will have 1 minute to prepare and then deliver a 3-minute presentation.

Flexibility:

• If a candidate finds the first topic difficult, they can choose another number from 1 to 100 and claim the second topic.
• Candidates can choose one of the two topics, but no additional opportunities will be given.
• The topics are randomised after each exam. Even if the next candidate chooses the same number, they will get a different title.

Key Features of the Micro-Presentation:

• A micro-presentation is an individual exercise, unlike a group discussion. Only the presenting candidate will speak, without any dialogue or discussion among the participants. Candidates will not be asked any questions during or after the presentation.
• Each candidate presents their topic in front of 9–11 fellow candidates and 2 panellists.

Evaluation Parameters:

The IBS selection panel will assess candidates based on their ability to:

• Think quickly and organise thoughts effectively.
• Present information clearly and concisely within the 3-minute time limit.
• Demonstrate the following qualities:
  • Logical reasoning
  • Relevance to the topic
  • Communication skills
  • Confidence
  • Body language

Guidance for Candidates:

Candidates may be advised to:

• Quickly jot down key points or an outline in 1 minute of preparation time to structure their thoughts.
• Focus on presenting the most important and relevant information clearly and concisely.
• Practice speaking at a steady pace to fit within the 3-minute limit.
• Maintain confidence, clarity, and appropriate body language throughout the presentation.

IBSAT Cutoff 2025

After the IBSAT 2025 result declaration, all nine campuses of the IBSAT will release the IBSAT cutoff individually. To be eligible to appear for the selection rounds, i.e., the micro-presentation and personal interview (PI), candidates need to secure a minimum mark.

IBSAT Counselling 2025

After releasing the IBSAT 2025 cutoff, shortlisted candidates will be called for IBSAT counselling at the campus of IBS Hyderabad. The selection process for IBS 2025 comprises the IBSAT entrance test, micro-presentation, and personal interview. Shortlisted candidates will be able to take admission to the respective campus.

IBSAT Merit List 2025

After the conclusion of the IBS 2025 selection process, ICFAI Business School will release the final merit list of shortlisted candidates. Based on the candidate’s overall performance, IBS releases the merit list. The final admission criteria of the selection process vary for each of the nine IBS campuses.
