which one entrace exam is best for applying in mba collages , mat exam or cmat exam
Dear aspirant,
Although if we compare to cat both these exams are easier than cmat and mat. Cmat is relatively easier to crack.
CMAT was introduced to reduce student's stress during the preparation of management entrance examination.
The national testing agency conducts the CMAT and ATMA conducts the MAT examination. CMAt is a higher level examination if you compare with mat as it gives to admission to top B - schools all over India. However mat score is accepted by 600+ colleges.
I attempted 75-80 questions in mat , and I think I can get 60correct answers out of 200, what would be my percentile
Hi Aspirant!
MAT exam has five sections:
- Mathematical Skills
- Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
- Data Analysis & Sufficiency
- Language Comprehension
- Indian and Global Environment (GK)
Each section has 40 questions and for every correct answer you get +1 mark and for every wrong answer 0.25 mark is duducted.
NOTE: GK section is not counted in the overall “Composite Score”. The composite score is the marks scored in the first four sections (GK is not a part of composite score). GK score is reported separately.
>> As you metioned that you attempted 75-80 questions, so I am assuming that this does not include questions from GK section. Thus I am assuming that you answered 75 Non-GK questions. Also, the score depends on accuracy rate as well (how many you attempted were right).
>> In first case, attempted: 75 questions, accuracy - 100%. So, the total marks will be 75 out of 160 (not including GK Part). A net score of 70 marks can take one to more than 95 percentile (overall), (as per the previous years marks vs percentile record).
>> In second case, let's assume you answered questions with 80% accuracy. It means that 60 were correct and remaining 15 were incorrect. Total marks = 60 + (15/4) = 63.75 marks, which will most probably make 85-90% overall (as per the records).
Note: It has been observed that a net score of more than 100 marks (out of 160 marks) will take one to more than 99.9 percentile.
>> So, let's wait for the actual result and do not consider the numbers above as the final result.
Thankyou!
