XAT Eligibility Criteria 2018: XAT 2018 exam commenced at 10 a.m on Sunday, January 7, 2018. XLRI Jamshedpur had prescribed the eligibility criteria of XAT 2018. According to the XAT 2018 eligibility criteria, applicants should be graduates in any discipline from a recognised institute or university. There is no specific cutoff for percentage or CGPA to be obtained in Bachelor’s degree. Final year graduation students also fulfil the XAT 2018 eligibility criteria provided they receive their Bachelor’s Degree before the admission process of XAT is completed. Xavier Aptitude Test is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur for admission to its flagship management programmes and around 100 B-schools across India. Applicants should have a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline
Final year graduation students completing their degree by June 10, 2018, are also eligible to apply
NRI and foreign candidates belonging to cities except Dubai and Nepal may apply through GMAT scores
XAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria – XLRI Programmes
There are 11 member institutes and around 150 participating institutes. The participating institutes of XAT 2018 may have separate eligibility criteria. Prior to applying for the B-schools, candidates must ensure that they not only fulfil the XAT 2018 eligibility criteria of that particular institute as well.
XAT Eligibility Criteria - Human Resource Management (HRM)
For Human Resource Management (HRM) programme, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree of at least three years duration or equivalent in any discipline from any recognised institutes. Candidates who are appearing for their graduation final exam by June 10, 2018, can also apply.
XAT Eligibility Criteria - Business Management (BM)
For Business Management (BM) programme, the eligibility criteria are same as of HRM programme.
XAT Eligibility Criteria - General Management Programme
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in India or abroad with a minimum of five years managerial/ supervisory experience by March 31, 2018. Candidates can also apply through either XAT 2018 or GMAT score (given the exam between December 1, 2015, and December 20, 2017).
The application process of XAT 2018 began on August 16, 2017. Last year onwards, the application deadline follows two phases. After the first phase concluded on November 30, the late application window had begun from the second week of December. The application fee of XAT 2018 also varied from the first phase and late application phase as candidates had to pay Rs. 1650 in the first phase and Rs. 2000 in case they had submitted the XAT application 2018 after November 30, 2017.
The XAT application process was completely online and applicants had to visit the official website and register themselves. After receiving the login credentials, they had to log in again and complete the process by filling up the online application form, uploading the photograph, add the signature and finally paying the application fee by choosing one of the accepted payment gateways.
XAT is conducted on the first Sunday of January every year, likewise, the date of XAT 2018 is January 7, 2018. This year, XAT 2018 is going to be an online test of 3.5 hours duration and not offline as held in previous years. The exam is divided into two papers or parts. Part 1 is completely objective carrying 78 questions from three sections. Paper 2 is a mix of objective and subjective type questions having two sections, General Knowledge and Essay Writing.
Approximately 90,000 candidates have written the XAT paper. The result of XAT will be declared January 31, 2018, followed by which XLRI and other participating institutes will declare their XAT 2018 cutoffs. Qualifying candidates will have to appear for the selection procedure.
