The Symbiosis International (Deemed University) will conduct the SNAP 2026 examination on December 13, December 19 and December 26, 2026. With the exam scheduled across three dates, candidates should follow a structured SNAP preparation plan to complete the syllabus well in advance and use the final weeks for revision and mock tests. SNAP 2026 has also introduced Ethics, Morality and Values as a new section, making it important for candidates to include this subject in their preparation from the beginning.
The exam will have 60 questions carrying 60 marks, divided among General English (10 questions), Analytical and Logical Reasoning (20 questions), Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency (20 questions), and Ethics, Morality and Values (10 questions). Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the test, with 25% negative marking for every incorrect answer.
In this article, we have discussed a detailed SNAP 2026 preparation plan for all the months along with top resources.
August should be used to understand SNAP, evaluate yourself to know where you stand in order to develop a proper basic groundwork in all three sections. The first week can be used to learn the exam. From week 2, you can start preparing for General English, Analytical and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative DI and DS. The following is the suggested SNAP study plan:
Week | What to Do |
Week 1 | Check the updated SNAP exam pattern, number of questions, marking scheme and time limit. Solve a few sample questions and take a diagnostic test to identify your strong and weak areas. Also review the updated syllabus, including Ethics, Morality and Values. |
Week 2 | English: Grammar and vocabulary basics.LR: Series, coding-decoding, blood relations, directions, clocks and calendars.Quant: Percentages, ratio and proportion, averages and profit and loss.Ethics, Morality and Values: Understand basic concepts such as ethics, morality, values, principles, ethical dilemmas and decision-making. Practise introductory questions based on everyday situations. |
Week 3 | English: RC, fill in the blanks, sentence completion and vocabulary.LR: Arrangements and puzzles.Quant: Simple interest, compound interest, time and work, time, speed and distance, DI and DS.Ethics, Morality and Values: Revise key concepts and practise situation-based questions involving honesty, responsibility, fairness, integrity, social values and ethical choices. |
Week 4 | Solve mixed questions from all sections, including Ethics, Morality and Values. Track the time spent on questions, identify repeated mistakes and revise important formulas and concepts. Take 1–2 sectional tests and include Ethics, Morality and Values in your practice. Analyse the results and use them to plan your September preparation. |
September is all about finishing the topics and trying to be more accurate in solving the questions in a given time.
Week | What to Do |
Week 1 | General English: Practise mixed sets of RC, grammar, vocabulary and verbal ability.Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Revise frequently asked question types and solve them within a time limit.Quant, DI and DS: Revise Arithmetic, Algebra and Number System, followed by DI, DS and other completed topics.Ethics, Morality and Values: Revise key concepts and practise situation-based questions covering ethics, values, morality, integrity and ethical decision-making. |
Week 2 | Start taking sectional tests for each section, including Ethics, Morality and Values. Try different approaches to solve questions and identify which methods work best for you. Note repeated mistakes and revise the concepts behind them before the next test. |
Week 3 | Take regular full-length SNAP mock tests covering all sections. Analyse your performance after every mock, including your accuracy, time spent and questions you left or got wrong. Give extra attention to weaker areas rather than getting discouraged by low scores. |
Week 4 | Continue taking full-length mocks and refine your attempt strategy. Decide which questions to attempt first based on your strengths, the difficulty level and the time available. Practise switching between sections or questions when you get stuck, and revise Ethics, Morality and Values along with other frequently missed topics. |
Here is a snapshot of the SNAP preparation plan for October 2026:
Week | What to Do |
Week 1 | General English: Practise mixed sets of RC, grammar, vocabulary and verbal ability.Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Revise frequently asked question types and solve them within a time limit.Quant, DI and DS: Revise Arithmetic, Algebra and Number System, followed by DI, DS and other completed topics.Ethics, Morality and Values: Revise important concepts and practise questions based on ethical situations, moral values, integrity and decision-making. |
Week 2 | Start taking sectional tests and try different ways to solve questions. Include Ethics, Morality and Values in your practice and note the concepts or question types where you make repeated mistakes. Revise these areas before taking the next test. |
Week 3 | Take regular full-length SNAP mock tests covering all sections. Analyse your performance after each mock, focusing on accuracy, time spent, unanswered questions and recurring mistakes. Use the analysis to identify topics that need further revision. |
Week 4 | Refine your question-attempt strategy based on your mock-test performance. Decide which questions to attempt first based on your strengths and the difficulty level. Practise leaving time-consuming questions and returning to them later, while continuing to revise frequently missed concepts. |
November is the month to increase mock frequency and improve your exam strategy. New topic learning should reduce significantly. Most of your time should now go into revision, timed practice and mock analysis.
Week | What to Do |
Week 1 | Use your test results to identify the topics that are lowering your score. Do not start learning everything again. Pick a few topics where regular practice can improve your performance quickly. Continue solving mixed questions from all three sections daily. |
Week 2 | Take more full-length mocks and attempt each one in a single sitting, without breaks. After every mock, check which questions took too much time and identify repeated mistakes, such as calculation errors, spending too long on puzzles or rushing through RC questions. |
Week 3 | Review wrong answers to find the reason behind each mistake. Check whether the problem is weak concepts, poor question selection, calculation errors or loss of concentration. Work on these areas instead of simply attempting more questions. |
Week 4 | Use your mock results to decide your section-wise approach, including which questions to attempt, skip and how much time to spend on each section. |
December is the last and most crucial phase for SNAP preparation. Focus on mocks, revision and confidence-building and do not get tempted to start working on new topics unless they are extremely connected to a prior concept.
Week | What to Do |
Week 1 | Take mocks regularly and revise weak areas identified from them. English: Revise vocabulary, grammar and question types.Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Practise short mixed sets and different puzzle types.Quant, DI and DS: Revise formulas, calculation shortcuts and important topics.Ethics, Morality and Values: Revise key concepts and practise situation-based questions involving values, integrity, morality and ethical decision-making. |
Week 2 | Build your exam strategy based on mock performance and follow it in every mock. Practise deciding which questions to attempt and which to skip across all sections, including Ethics, Morality and Values. Leave a difficult question if it is taking too much time and move to a more manageable one. |
Week 3 | Reduce the number of mocks and focus on regular practice and revision. Analyse every mock you take, review your error log and redo questions you previously got wrong. Revise important concepts from Ethics, Morality and Values and other areas where your accuracy remains low. |
Week 4 | Revise key formulas, grammar rules, vocabulary, reasoning concepts and mistakes from previous tests. Revise important Ethics, Morality and Values concepts and review the types of questions you found difficult during mocks. Do not make major changes to your exam strategy. Keep practice sessions short and focused instead of trying to study too much in one day. |
The number of hours you need for SNAP 2026 should increase as the exam gets closer. In the first two months, the focus should be on building concepts and identifying weak areas. From October onwards, you should spend more time on timed practice, mocks and revision. Working professionals may study fewer hours on weekdays and compensate with longer sessions on weekends.
Preparation Period | College Students | Working Professionals | What to Focus On |
August and September | 2–4 hours daily | 1.5–3 hours on weekdays | Concepts, topic-wise practice and basic speed |
October | 3–5 hours daily | 2–4 hours on weekdays | Sectional tests, timed practice and first full-length mocks |
November | 4–6 hours daily | 2.5–4 hours on weekdays | Regular mocks, mock analysis and improving weak areas |
December | 3–5 hours daily | 2–4 hours on weekdays | Revision, exam strategy and maintaining speed and accuracy |
The number of SNAP mocks you take should increase gradually as your preparation progresses. Taking too many mocks before completing the basics can be counterproductive, while taking too few in the final months may leave you unprepared for the exam’s speed and time pressure.
Preparation Period | Recommended Number of Mocks |
August | 1 mock test |
September | 2–4 mocks |
October | 4–6 mocks |
November | 6–8 mocks |
December | 4–6 mocks before the exam |
Total | Around 18–25 full-length mocks |
A few common mistakes to avoid while preparing for SNAP 2026 are discussed below:
Do not waste too much time on one particular question. If you do not get the context or approach of a certain question, do not try to solve it immediately. Move on to the next one and if there is still time left, move back to the previous one.
Do not try to solve each and every question during practice tests. Remember, in SNAP, you need to solve more number of questions than in any other exam. So, start by using a watch to measure the time you take for each practice set, this will motivate you to solve more questions in lesser time.
Start taking mocks early on in your preparation, the first diagnostic test should be taken ideally in August, so that you can determine your standing. Then, as you progress through the syllabus, keep increasing the number of mocks you take.
Taking a mock is one thing, analysing it to find out areas of improvement is another. After every mock, go through all the questions you got wrong, the easy ones you skipped and the time you wasted on certain questions. Then, practice accordingly before taking the next one.
Avoid practising for SNAP in the same way as you prepare for CAT. In CAT, you work on understanding challenging sets and questions, but in SNAP, you need to focus on speed and short answer questions. Therefore, you need to take regular short tests and improve your quick question-solving skills.
Candidates preparing for the SNAP examination must make a healthy habit of attempting mock tests as well. These help candidates to understand their weak points helps in building a speed to solve questions. Careers360 provides a free SNAP mock test 2026, the link of which you can find below.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes, it is a good month to start your preparations for SNAP 2026. Since, you have four months that you can use to strengthen your basics and practice questions.
You can plan to study for 3-4 hours everyday if you are appearing for SNAP 2026 only.
You can start taking full-length mocks from October. Before that, you can practice sectional tests and time-based questions regularly. From November, make sure to take regular mocks and spend considerable time reviewing and analysing the questions that you have attempted wrong or left.
It is important to focus on your weaker section, but you must not neglect others as SNAP tests you on all three sections. Further, since you have little time to solve many questions in SNAP, it is important to practice each section, especially English, Analytical & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency with a stopwatch.
Since CAT and SNAP have considerable overlap, you can utilise your CAT preparations for building concepts in Quant, VARC, and Reasoning. However, keep in mind that you need to practice easy and some moderate questions for SNAP in lesser time. In addition, you need to separately practice and take mocks for SNAP for speed and accuracy.
