CAT Question Papers – IIM Calcutta has released the CAT 2018 question paper and candidate response sheet of the test takers on November 30. This is the answer sheet of the candidates and not the official answer key of CAT 2018. On the basis of that, MBA coaching institutes like T.I.M.E. and Career Launcher have released the CAT 2018 answer key. Candidates can calculate their estimated scores by checking the answer keys of CAT released by the academic experts. IIM Calcutta will release the CAT 2018 answer key in the first week of December 2018. CAT 2018, the national-level management entrance exam, was conducted for admissions to 20 IIMs and 100 other B-schools in the country. The CAT question papers will allow the management aspirants to check the exact questions asked in the exam and they would be able to prepare accordingly. As the question papers of CAT are the actual previous year question papers, candidates can use them to know about the type of questions, topics covered in the exam and the format of the exam. The CAT question papers will also allow the candidates to understand the marking scheme of the exam, syllabus, duration, etc. This year, CAT was conducted on November 25, 2018, in online mode. Before knowing the question papers, let’s have a look at the exam pattern of CAT exam. It will allow the candidates to understand the CAT question paper better. This is the tentative exam pattern based on last year’s format. The number of questions in each sector may differ this year.

The exam is majorly divided into three sections as mentioned in the table. The duration of the exam is 3 hours (180 minutes) and each section gets 1 hour. Candidates cannot switch between sections as each section is time-bound. Each question carries 3 marks which means each correct answer will get 3 marks and each incorrect response will deduct 1 mark. The exam will have both multiple choice questions (options given to choose the right answer) and subjective questions (type the answer).

The previous year question papers allow the candidates to check the exact type of questions asked in the exam and how they can prepare for it.
Solving the question papers of CAT will allow the candidates to understand their weak and strong points and they can prepare accordingly.
It will also allow the candidates to improve their time management skills. They will also get to know how quickly they need to solve a question, which question to attempt and which question to leave, etc.

As time management is the key to success in CAT exam, candidates are advised to solve the CAT sample paper in a time-bound manner to know their level of preparation. Analysing the performance in CAT sample paper is one of the most important factors while preparing for the exam. It will allow the candidates to focus on their weak points and work on them accordingly. It is important for the aspirants to get their performance in mock tests analysed by experts or mentors to give their preparation a right direction.
Once the exam has been conducted successfully, it is advisable to check the CAT answer key to assess one's performance in the exam. CAT registration has started from August 8 and continued until September 26. CAT 2018 was conducted by IIM Calcutta in 374 test centres located in 147 cities across India. Above 2.40 lakh candidates have applied for the exam and 2.09 lakh candidates appeared for the exam this year. Around 4,000 seats are offered through the 20 IIMs for PG management programmes. Prof. Sumanta Basu of IIM Calcutta is the CAT convener for this year.
