MICAT Selection Procedure 2025: MICA Ahmedabad conducts the MICAT entrance exam annually for PGP admission. The MICA PGP admission is done strictly based on the MICAT selection procedure. Applicants who meet the MICA cut off in any of the MBA entrance exams like XAT/CAT/GMAT and MICAT will be shortlisted for the further rounds of MICA admission. MICAT selection procedure 2025 is 2 two-step process - shortlisting of the candidates based on MICAT cut off, group discussion and personal interview and release of final MICA merit list. The institute will conduct the MICAT Exam in two phases on December 7, 2024 and January 25, 2025. MICAT 2025 Selection Procedure

Candidates qualifying for the entrance test are shortlisted for the MICAT selection procedure 2025. Then, shortlisted candidates have to participate in the group exercise (GE) and personal interview (PI). The selection process for MICAT 2025 includes three procedures given below:

Step 1: CAT/XAT/GMAT

Each candidate must have taken at least one of the three exams: CAT/XAT/GMAT.

Step 2: MICA Admission Test (MICAT)

The institute will assess all the candidates based on the MICAT, which has the following 3 sections

  • Section A: Psychometric Test
  • Section B: (has 4 sub-sections) - Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General Awareness; Divergent and Convergent Thinking
  • Section C: Descriptive Test.

Step 3: GE and PI

All the candidates who have been selected based on their performance in CAT/XAT/GMAT and MICAT have to take part in both Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI).

Shortlisting of candidates for GE and PI

  • Section A of MICAT (Psychometric test) is a qualifier.
  • Candidates' performance in the CAT/XAT/GMAT will be considered if they pass the Psychometric section. The institute will consider the minimum cut-off secured by candidates in the CAT/XAT total percentile/GMAT score.
  • The institute will assess Section B of MICAT for candidates based on their performance in the CAT/XAT/GMAT performance.
  • Those candidates who pass based on the relative performance subject to securing a minimum cut-off (normalized scores)) of Section B of MICAT shall have their Section C of MICAT Assessed. Each section will have its cut-off.
  • Those candidates who pass based on sections a, b, c and d (based on relative performance subject to a minimum cut-off (normalized scores)) of Section C of MICAT will be considered for shortlisting for GE and PI. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the GE and PI at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. (The list of candidates shortlisted for GE and PI is prepared based on a composite score formula of 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT marks and 50% MICAT scores).

MICAT GE-PI Process 2025

Group exercise (GE) and personal interview (PI) one of the three stages of the MICAT selection process 2025. Candidates are shortlisted for next selection procedure of the MICAT 2025 based on their performance in the entrance exam. The selected candidates are called for this GE-PI process. In this round, the institute assesses the overall personality of candidates. A candidate is tested and judged on the parameters given below.

Some of the important points about GE-PI round are mentioned below:

  • Candidates who have been shortlisted for GE-PI round are issued a call letter by the institute.
  • The first phase will be conducted in Ahmedabad.
  • The institute will conduct the second phase for group exercise and personal interview at Bengaluru and Mumbai.
  • After the final round of the MICAT selection procedure 2025, the institute will release the final merit list.

Preparation of MICAT Final Merit List 2025

The final merit list will be prepared based on the following parameters:

  • Candidates mentioned in the final merit list are unanimously approved by the panelists who take their personal interview.
  • Candidates must secure at least 3.5 or more on a scale of 5 in Group Exercise (GE) round.
  • They also have to secure a minimum of 4 or above in Personal Interview (PI).

CMAT is conducted for 180 minutes, and additional 30 minutes is allotted for optional section, there are total of five sections(one is optional) and each one consists of 25 questions for 100 marks as mentioned below-

MICAT result 2022 has been emailed to applicants' registered email addresses, and students who took the entrance exam can now verify their qualifying status.

MICAT Syllabus  - Psychometric Test


Basically, this is a personality test and this section is different from other management entrance examinations. It is mandatory for the candidates to attempt all the questions in this section. Some of the important aspects related to the test are explained below.


In this section, the questions are designed to assess the candidates’ behavior which includes thinking ability, personality, strengths and weaknesses etc. Questions are based on career goals, life goals, situational judgement. Candidates should answer the questions with honesty and open mind


Multiple-choice questions are asked.


Duration allotted for the psychometric test is 25 minutes.


According to previous year sample papers, in the first set of questions, out of the three options candidates should select the option which describes their behavior in the best way.


In the second set of MICAT questions, candidates were asked to give a rating on a scale of 1 to 6 for the responses in terms of their priority under a certain scenario. Around 8 to 10 questions were asked in the entrance exam.
