As per the marking scheme of CMAT exam pattern 2021:
For every correct answer candidate will be given four marks
For every incorrect answer one mark will be deducted
In case a question has multiple correct answers in such a situation:
Multiple correct options will be given four marks
Incorrect answers will lead to deduction of one mark.
Unattempted questions will not be marked.
In a case that the question is ignored or dropped then all students will get four marks irrespective if the question is attempted or not.

Candidates can switch from one section to another as there is no sectional time limit.
Students must note that for every incorrect answer there will be negative marking and that for every unattempted question there will be no negative marking.
As the paper will be computer-based, students will be provided with the rough sheet for extra work.
No scratch paper will be allowed inside the examination hall except for pen/pencil.
No breaks will be given in between the examination.

CAT and CMAT entrance exams are national level entrance exams to get admission in Management courses in postgraduate level. The participating institutes of CAT are 20 IIMs, IITs, JBIMS, MDI, SPJIMR, IMI, FMS and more than 500 colleges accept CAT score across the country. CMAT score is accepted by all the institutes which are AICTE-Approved. Admission process, cut off will be different for each entrance exam. And KMAT is a state level entrance exam for admission to MBA and PGDM in colleges of Karnataka. Depending on your preferences of course, institute, financial assistance you can opt any of the entrance exam. CAT is not necessary to appear in CMAT, KMAT etc.
