XAT Admit CardXAT Admit Card 2018 - XLRI Jamshedpur released the XAT 2018 admit card on December 27, 2017. XAT admit card 2018 was available only in online mode and the candidates who completed the XAT application process successfully could download the admit card. To download XAT 2018 admit card, registered candidates were required to login with their XAT ID and password. XAT admit card 2018 contained relevant information regarding candidates and exam venue & instructions. The admit card of XAT 2018 was required to be carried to the test centre on the day of the exam along with valid photo identity proof. XAT 2018 exam was held on January 7, 2018 in online mode. How to Download XAT Admit Card 2018?

  • Visit the official website of XAT 2018 Or Click on the link given above

  • Click on the tab ‘Login’ and enter your XAT ID and Password

  • Upon successful login, click on the tab ‘Download Admit Card

  • Take at least two printouts of the XAT 2018 admit card

After downloading the admit card of XAT 2018, candidates were advised to check whether there was any discrepancy in the candidates’ personal information, photograph and signature. In case there is any wrong information, candidates were advised to contact XAT officials from XLRI Jamshedpur immediately to get it rectified.


What will XAT Admit Card 2018 Carry?


The XAT 2018 admit card contained the following information.

  • Candidates' name

  • Candidates' Roll Number and XAT ID

  • XAT Examination Schedule

  • XAT Test Centre name and address

  • Candidates' photograph

  • Candidates' signature

  • Test day instructions, etc.

XAT Admit Card 2018 - Important Instructions

  • The examination centre of any candidate will not be changed under any circumstances.
  • Candidates have to take two copies of XAT 2018 admit card print out to the exam centre and submit one copy to the invigilator. No candidate will be allowed to appear for the test without the admit card. 

  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam centre after the scheduled time of commencement of exam.
  • Candidates who are appearing for the exam must check their eligibility in all respect so as to avoid disappointment at any later stage. If a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature is liable to be rejected at any stage. The candidature of a candidate for the exam is "PURELY PROVISIONAL". 
  • Test takers have to paste a recent passport size colour photograph in the space provided, ideally, it should be the same photograph which candidates had uploaded during filling the application form of XAT 2018.

  • Candidates have to sign in the space provided in the presence of Invigilator and not before that.

  • Candidates are required to carry two blue and black ball pen for marking the OMR sheets and rough work.

  • Along with XAT admit card, which is the mandatory document for the exam day, candidates also have to carry two photo identity proofs (Voter ID Card, Passport, Driving License, Aadhaar Card among others).

The following items are not allowed to be carried inside the XAT Exam Centre:

  • Calculator

  • Electronic/digital diary

  • Cell phone

  • Microphone
  • Beepers or any similar electronic equipment, cameras and any extra pieces of paper are not allowed inside the exam Centre. If a candidate carries any of the mentioned devices/documents in the exam hall, his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled. XLRI will not be responsible for the safe custody of any of these devices/equipment.

Note - If Candidate's XAT admit card does not have their photograph and signature printed, paste recent passport size photograph. Go to the respective XAT test centre along with their admit card, payment proof for XAT 2018, XAT Confirmation Page copy, 2 passport size photographs and a photo identity proof along with 2 photocopies of the same.


FAQ's regarding XAT 2018 Admit Card


Q. What should I do if I forget my password while downloading my XAT admit card?

A. Candidates will have to go to the login page and click on the 'Forgot password' tab. S/he has to enter their email address after which a link will be sent to the registered email id. Post which candidates have to click on the link to reset the password. 


Q. Who should I contact if I am unable to download my admit card?

A. Since XAT admit card is available in online mode only and not by mail, therefore you will immediately need to contact the admission office:

Q. Can I carry a photocopy of my ID card to the exam centre?

A. No, you cannot carry a photocopy as you will need the original document to be able to take the entrance exam. 


Q. Do I have to paste my picture after downloading my XAT admit card?

A. Yes, candidates are required to paste the same image used at the time of XAT registration Without pasting the picture, candidates will not be able to take the test. 


Q. What details a candidate should mention when writing to XLRI regarding the problem in XAT 2018 admit card?

A. When writing to XLRI regarding the problem on the admit card, a candidate must mention their contact details, XAT ID, full name and date of birth (DOB) as mentioned in their application. 


Exam day instructions for XAT 2018

  • Test takers had to report to their XAT 2018 exam centre by 9 AM as the test will begin at 10 AM.

  • XAT was of 3:5 hours duration to be held from 10:00 am till 1:30 pm. The duration of Paper 1 was 2:50 hours and that of Paper 2 was 35 minutes

  • Do not fold or leave any smudges on the OMR sheet. No Extra OMR sheet will be provided in case it is spoiled or tampered.

  • Do not give/obtain any help during the test from fellow test takers.

  • Candidates have to stop writing the first Part at 12:50 pm and the second Part at 1:30 pm.

  • Candidates found violating the instructions of the test will be disqualified.

  • The negative marks for unattempted questions would be distributed proportionately across the 3 sections.

  • Candidates have to sit at the desk marked with their XAT Roll Number and nowhere else

  • Candidates have to occupy the seat on which their CRN (Centre Registration Number) is mentioned.

  • The rough work has to be done in the margins of the OMR sheet

  • No test taker will be allowed to leave to exam hall prior to the actual schedule of 3.35 hours even if they complete the test early 

XAT 2018 Exam Centres - XAT 2018 was conducted in 47 cities across India and two international cities, Dubai and Kathmandu.


XAT Exam Pattern 2018 - XAT 2018 was conducted in a paper pencil based mode and will carry two papers. Paper 1 had three sections, Decision Making, Verbal and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation. Paper 2 had two sections, General Awareness and Essay Writing.
