Karnataka PGCET MBA 2020 Result: Ranking of the candidates

Candidates who have appeared in the Karnataka PGCET MBA 2020 will be allotted ranks according to the scores which they have obtained in the examination. Ranking of the candidates is useful for the counselling process as the candidates will be allotted to different colleges on the basis of their rank they have obtained in the examination. In case two candidates have obtained the same marks in the examination, this is the case of a tie breaker

Tie Breaker Method 1: In this method, candidates who have a higher total aggregate in qualifying exam will be awarded a higher rank.

Method: The candidates who are older are preferred over the younger candidate who has obtained the same marks.

Merit List: A merit list is prepared for the candidates on the basis of their ranks obtained by them in the examination. For government seats, merit list will also be influenced by the list of the candidates claiming the benefit of reservation under Admission Rules of Karnataka Examinations Authority.

What after Karnataka PGCET MBA 2020 result:

After the commencement of the examination, candidates will be called for the counselling. Only the candidates who have appeared for Karnataka PGCET MBA 2020 and have qualified the minimum cutoff marks will be considered and called for the counselling. In order to appear for the counselling candidates have to register. On the basis of counselling only, KEA will decide which candidates will be allotted to which college. After the counselling rounds candidates will be offered admission to MBA programme offered various government and private colleges across Karnataka.

Question: Can non-Karnataka students apply for PGCET entrance exam?


Yes, non-Karnataka candidates can apply for the PGCET entrance exam. Allotment of seats for Karnataka PGCET candidates will be 90% for Karnataka candidates and 10% for non-Karnataka candidates. Even the reservation guidelines will be applicable only for Karnataka candidates rest all will be treated as general.

see karnataka pgcet exam is for admission in mba, mca or m.e /m.tech courses. the eligibility criteria for all course is you need to have 50% marks in your graduation course in relevant discipline. now you need to convert you cgpa to percentage using the conversion rules of your university and apply for  pgcet.

Ramu, yes you can appear for Karnataka PGCET though you are from AP. But yes, you will not be considered for Karnataka reservation policy reserved for its Candidates. While 90% of the seats are reserved for Karnataka domicile Candidates, 10% of the seats are reserved for Non Karnataka domicile Candidates. Now, the official notification for 2020 will be released tentatively during the month of May 2020.
