    Determining Factors of NMAT Cutoff

Selected students will be able to take admission only after the declaration of the NMIMS NMAT cutoff. Before announcing the NMAT cutoff, various parameters are taken into account by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). The NMAT result is declared in online mode, post which the NMAT cutoff will be released by the authorities.

Based on the previous year's NMIMS NMAT cutoff, we can say that the NMAT cutoff will not vary much. The cutoff of NMAT will be determined keeping in mind the postgraduate admission process. NMAT cutoff will be released by the participating colleges based on some determinants, which are given below -

    • Number of registrations
    • A number of candidates appeared
    • Reservation criteria
    • Availability of seats
    • The difficulty level of the NMAT exam
    • Past year cutoff trends

A full description of NMAT cutoff determining factors can be checked by candidates below:

    • Candidates appeared - Before finalising the NMAT cutoff, authorities always keep in mind the number of candidates who appeared for the NMAT entrance exam. When the number of candidates appearing for the exam is higher, the NMAT cutoff released will be on the higher side. If not, then vice versa.
    • Reservation criteria - This is an important determinant while finalising the cutoffs. Categories like SC/ ST etc. play an important role and the expected average NMAT cutoff is decided. Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC category might have a lower admission cutoff as compared to those who belong to the open categories.
    • Availability of seats - This is the basis and most common factor that might be considered at the time of determining the cutoff of NMAT is the number of available seats. For example, if the number of candidates applying is less than the actual seats available in participating colleges, then the participating colleges will release a lower NMAT cutoff.
    • The difficulty level of NMAT- Participating colleges of NMAT will consider the difficulty level of the exam before they fix the cutoff for admissions in the new session.
    • Past year cutoff trend - While deciding the NMAT cutoff, participating institutes will also consider the previous trends of the cutoff. The new cutoff is set somewhere near the past trends.

    NMAT Cutoff: Year-Wise

In the below table, is the past year's NMAT cut off by participating institutes. What’s Next After NMAT Cutoff Declaration?

Each institute that will accept the NMAT scores 2025 will release the cutoff separately, as per the selection procedure of NMAT. Majorly, there will be two steps in the NMAT selection procedure 2025. The first would be to appear for the computer-based exam. Post which selected candidates will be called for group discussion, personal interview, writing ability test, and case discussion rounds.

If you are planning to take admission and have to qualify for these rounds, then you must know the things that you should not do in GD-PI rounds to improve your chances of selection. The NMAT 2025 selection procedure will comprise the following parameters.

Each group has its own topic for discussion. So, participating institutes conduct Case Discussions (CD) instead of GD. In the Case Discussion, a structured discussion of any situation will be given. Candidates will have to make a few quick entries within the stipulated time.
    • Personal Interview (PI) - After the conclusion of the Group Discussion (GD) round, the participating institutes will conduct a Personal Interview (PI) round.
    • Written Ability Test (WAT) - Some of the participating institutes will also conduct Written Ability Test (WAT) rounds along with GD and PI. The main purpose of conducting a WAT round is to check candidates' writing and communication ability.
