CAT 2018 is just one month away. It's very important for the candidates to know what exactly they should be doing or what should be the strategy in the last one month. A right strategy can make a huge difference on the exam day. Here are few last-month tips for CAT 2018.
Strengthen your basics
If your basics are clear, you will be able to tackle any kind of question on the exam day. Arks Srinivas, National Head, MBA Prep, Career Launcher says, “Regularly practice and revise the formula, vocabulary and grammar rules so that you don’t have to think hard on the exam day.” So, make sure you revise the basics every day.
Practice Full-length Mock Tests
Make sure to take as many mock tests as possible in the last one month to CAT. This is the best way to prepare for the actual exam. IIM Calcutta has already released CAT mock test on the official CAT website. You can simply login and practise online.
Develop an exam-day strategy
Make your own exam-day strategy that you are comfortable with. This strategy must include how you going to attempt questions in each section. A pre-planned strategy will save a lot of time for you on the exam day.
It is very important to be aware of marking scheme of the CAT exam to devise an exam-taking strategy which includes number of attempts to be made, accuracy along with time management. As per the marking scheme of CAT 2018, each correct answer will be awarded three marks and one mark would be deducted for each wrong answer. However, this marking scheme is applicable only for MCQs. For Non-MCQs (or TITA questions), there is no negative marking.
Rough Sheet - Candidates will be provided with pages for rough calculations at the test centre; however, one needs to submit the same after completing the examination. Candidates are not allowed to carry anything inside the examination hall except their admit card and ID.
More than 2.41 lakh candidates applied for CAT 2018. As many as 20 IIMs and over 100 B-schools across India are CAT participating institutes, i.e. they accept CAT score for their admission process.
