    What is CAT? (Common Admission Test)

    CAT, or Common Admission Test, is an MBA entrance test for IIMs and other top institutions. However, just a few colleges accept applicants based on their CAT results. Because it is such a popular exam, passing it can be challenging. It is a test that is done on a computer. This exam contains 68 questions of two types: multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and type-in-the-answer questions (TITA).

    These include questions on quantitative aptitude, verbal ability, reading comprehension, logical reasoning, and data interpretation in each of the three sections. Basic Mathematics and English are examples of subjects that could be included. The exam consists of a 204-point question paper with a time limit of 3 hours.

    CAT is a popular entrance exam that is necessary to be given by the candidates seeking admissions in IIMs and other well-established business schools for MBA or PGDM.     • Qualification – Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized college or university with a minimum of 50% marks in the final mark sheet. Candidates in the final year of graduation can also apply. For reserved categories like SC, ST, PWD, and DA, the marks can be 45%.

    • Age limit - No age limit has been specified for CAT examination. Also, there is no attempt limit for the CAT exam.

    With a VITMEE rank around 575, getting VLSI at VIT Vellore in Category 1 can be a bit competitive, but there is still a possibility depending on counselling trends and seat availability. Category 2 chances are generally much better at this rank.

    I had applied for kcet with my category certificate and income certificate which comes under CAT-1 in Karnataka but in final slip which I downloaded it still showed general merit category though i had given my RD number properly will i get another chance after exam to edit my application and get my reservation in 2026.
