Instructions for XAT 2020:

Apart from the marking scheme and duration of the test, the other important aspects of XAT exam pattern are given below:

  • While attempting XAT 2020, it is not mandatory for the candidate to answer all the questions at one go.

  • As per the exam pattern of XAT 2020, while answering the questions, there will be a timer on the right-hand side corner of the computer screen to track of the time.

  • There is no specified sequence which the candidate has to follow while answering the questions.

  • While responding to the questions, candidates will get to know how many questions they have answered and how many are still left unattempted.

  • During XAT, candidates will have the option to change the response to a particular question if they feel it is incorrect.

  • Candidates will have an opportunity within the given time frame to answer any question if they did not respond to it earlier.

  • According to XAT exam pattern, the candidate will get to see one question at a time

  • On responding to the answer, the candidate will have to click on ‘next question’ or click ‘previous question’, if they want to go back.

  • Another aspect of the exam pattern of XAT 2020 is that the candidates would get an opportunity to change the response by using the ‘Erase’ button at the bottom of the screen.

  • On the bottom of the screen, candidates would get to see ‘Tag’ and ‘De-Tag’ tabs. By using these tabs, candidates will be able to review a particular question later on. They can use the ‘De-tag’ tab to remove the bookmark.

  • In order to know the status of every question as per the XAT exam pattern, on the right hand of the computer screen, candidates would see a question palette. This palette has different colours and each of them indicates the status of every question.

Purple colour represents that the question has been answered and marked for review

Yellow colour represents that the question hasn't been answered and kept for review

White colour represents that the question hasn't been answered

Green colour represents that the question has been answered

Note: The questions that are marked for review or attempted will be considered as attempted unless the candidate uses the ‘Erase’ button on the screen.

  • Whenever a candidate press on ‘previous question’ or ‘next question’ tab then the selected answers are saved automatically.

  • ‘Preview Submit’ Button: When a candidate finishes the XAT exam within the allotted time, then they may click on ‘preview submit’ button. However, candidates are not allowed to exit from the examination hall. They can only leave the hall after the completion of stipulated time (3 hours)

  • Most of the selections made by the candidates will be on an autosave mode.

i had 6 subjects in 12th how do i calculate the aggregate of 12th class for filling in XAT FORM

ashutosh gupta 8th Nov, 2019

Hi rohhan

Xat is a national level entrance exam. Through xat you can get admission in best business schools of india like xlri jamshedpur, xmb bhubneshwar and ximb banglore.

You can sum up the marks of all the 6 subjects and than you can find out the percentage or the cgpa whatever the case may be and then you can add the information in the form.

Do we need to fill the college forms before appearing for XAT exam? Also if we missed to fill the college form, we can not apply for any college?

Rehan Alam Student Expert 7th Nov, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

While filling the form candidates will be required to enter their program details which they would like to opt for. Aspirants can choose from the following courses:

  • Business Management

  • Human Resource Management

  • General Management Programme (A minimum of 56 months of work experience is compulsory as on March 31,2020)

  • Fellow Programme in Management

As the candidate will select the programme, the form will ask to fill the first preference of campus for each programme.

So you have to fill the college preference before hand, however there are many other colleges accepting XAT score for whom you do not have to fill the separate forms.

Hope this helps, thanks.

For admission in tapmi 2020 , what is the admission process after appearing cat/xat exam?

ashutosh gupta 9th Nov, 2019
  1. TAPMI eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
  2. TAPMI uses CAT/XAT/GMAT scores for shortlisting the candidates for Post-graduate Programmes in Management. Accordingly, the candidate should be registered for CAT 2019/XAT 2020 or Taken GMAT and must score well to become eligible for admission.
  3. If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGDM admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by TAPMI by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate.
  4. A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for TAPMI Admission 2020.
  5. It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by TAPMI and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination latest by the stipulated date as announced by TAPMI
