The candidates planning to appear for the test should know about the MICAT 2018 exam pattern before appearing for the test. Knowing MICAT exam pattern 2018 will help candidates to know more about the type of questions, marking scheme, time duration, total number of questions, etc. It is a computer based test of approximately 165 minutes duration carrying around 140 descriptive and objective questions. The MICAT – I 2018 exam is expected to be held in the second week of December. MICAT – II 2018 is likely to be conducted in the second week of February, 2018. Duration – The total duration of MICAT 2018 is two hours and 45 minutes or 165 minutes.

 

Marking Scheme: There is no negative marking for Descriptive and Psychometric sections. The section which includes VA, QA, GA and DCR has a negative marking, which will result in a deduction of 0.25 per cent of the allotted marks.

 

Number of questions: The total number of questions in MICAT 2018 is expected to be 140. There are 25 questions each in Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and General Awareness section. In Divergent-Convergent Reasoning section, the number of questions are 30. Psychometric Test section is expected to have 35 question. There will be 4 question in Descriptive Test section.

 

The exam pattern of MICAT 2018 is dynamic and every year MICA adds different sections or elements in the test. This year too, the MICAT exam pattern may undergo change based on the discretion of the conducting authorities. However, the overall structure is expected to remain same.

 

MICAT Syllabus 2018: The MICAT 2018 syllabus is as follows:

 

Psychometric test is a qualifier. Candidates who qualify on the Psychometric test can be assessed for the following sections:

  • Verbal Ability (VA)

  • Quantitative ability (QA)

  • General awareness (GA)

  • Divergent-Convergent Reasoning (DCR)

The notification will be released by conducting body, MICA in the End of September along with the important dates of MICAT 2018. The application form of MICAT 2018 will be available from the first week of October. The registration process for MICAT-II 2018 is likely to begin from the first week of January, 2018.

 

There are around 27 cities in India, where MICAT 2018 exam centres are located. It is expected that candidates will be able to download the MICAT 2018 admit card from the first week of December. The MICAT-II 2018 admit card is likely to be available for download in the first week of February, 2018.Candidates need to carry their admit card at the exam centre to appear for MICAT 2018 exam.

 

It is expected that MICA will declare the result of MICAT-I 2018 in the third week of December. The result of MICAT–II 2018 is likely to be announced in the third week of February, 2018. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the MICAT 2018 selection procedure comprising Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The total number of seats are expected to be 180.
