Candidates need to check their MICAT 2025 results to understand the marking pattern and how they performed in the test.
Section A - A psychometric test is conducted in this part of the test. Although there is no negative marking in this part, the candidates must qualify for this psychometric test to proceed further.
Section B - This part of the test consists of a descriptive type test, where candidates are to write answers in an explanatory fashion. Just like Section A, this section does not have negative marking either.
Section C - This section is divided into four subsections:
Verbal ability,
Divergent and convergent thinking,
Data interpretation and quantitative reasoning
Quantitative reasoning
Note - This section has a negative marking. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
The candidate’s score will be divided into subsections i.e. MICAT-Phase I/ Phase II, then it will be normalised using statistical methods.
Score normalisation will be done for each subsection
The scores of all qualified candidates will be considered up to the point the candidate is eligible, in order to decide the normalised score.
The normalised score is calculated throughout all four subsections i.e. MICAT Phase I/ MICAT Phase II etc.
Here is the formula to calculate the normalised score:
Scaled score/ normalised score: Suppose a candidate scores “N” in their Quantitative Reasoning (QR). The way the normalised score will be calculated is (N divided by the maximum number obtained by any candidate who appeared in QR in MICAT Phase I/ MICAT Phase II).
Although Section A (Psychometric Test) is a qualifier, which means candidates must pass this section, it does not have any role into the preparation of the merit list.
Cut-off marks for Section B and C (descriptive test and subsections) are determined by MICA Ahmedabad. Only those candidates who have successfully scored above the cut-off marks, will be allowed to move forward to GD and PI.
Candidates getting shortlisted for GD and PI depends on their overall performance throughout all the rounds.
Candidates must appear for GE and PI rounds at their assigned MICAT centre.
Candidates can choose from five of the MICAT centres which are located in:
Ahmedabad
Kolkata
Bangalore
Mumbai
Delhi
For candidates who wish to take admissions and do not want to appear for MICAT entrance 2025, their application will be processed based on the marks they obtained in CAT/ GMAT/ XAT
Once all the GD and PI rounds are conducted successfully, then the final Merit list of MICAT 2025 will be published.
Depending on the score in MICAT 2025 as well as GMAT/ CAT/ XAT, candidates need to prepare for Group Discussion or Group Exercise (GD/ GE), followed by Personal Interview (PI).
The MICAT 2025 final merit list will be released after the successful competition of GD and PI rounds of all candidates.
The performance of a candidate in MICAT, psychometric tests, GD and PI will determine their final admission.
Candidates who are offered admission to the priority programme will automatically be revoked from the second priority programme.
Please note that when a candidate is offered admission to their second priority programme, there are one of two options they have: Either accept the offer and take admission in their second priority programme. To do so, they would have to withdraw their name from their priority programme. The second choice is that they refuse the offer to get admitted to the second priority programme and remain on the waiting list for their priority programme.
The four stages of the MICAT selection process are psychometric tests, followed by MICAT, CAT/ GMAT/ XAT, group discussion or exercise (GD/ GE) and personal interview (PI). There is no weightage in the selection process from the marks obtained from the psychometric test.
Details | Weightage |
MICAT Score | 30% |
CAT/ GMAT/ XAT score | 20% |
Group Discussion (GD) | 20% |
Personal Interview (PI) | 30% |
Total | 100% |
Scores obtained in CAT/ XAT 2025/ GMAT act as a first-stage requirement in the admission process.
The psychometric test is the first stage of MICAT admission 2025.
Candidates must appear for the psychometric test (Section A).
After the completion of the psychometric test, candidates are required to appear for Section B which is the objective and descriptive type test.
Marks obtained in MICAT and CAT/ XAT/ GMAT will determine whether the candidate is shortlisted for group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI).
The candidates must obtain at least 3.5 marks in group discussion (GD), to qualify and move on to the personal interview (PI).
At least 4 marks are needed for a candidate to clear the Personal Interview round (PI).
30% marks from the MICAT, 20% marks from CAT/XAT/GMAT, 20% marks from group discussion and 30% marks from personal interviews contribute to the preparation of the MICAT merit list 2025.
PGDM and PGDM-C are the two options available to the candidates to choose from.
MICAT result 2025 will be available to the candidates through the MICA official website.
Candidates have two preferences to choose from while filling out their application form.
There is no option to opt for postgraduate courses at MICA Ahmedabad. There are only two two options i.e. PGDM and PGDM-C available to candidates. Both courses are approved by AICTE.
The preparation of the MICAT merit list 2025 will only start after the successful completion of all personal interview rounds.
The final admission of any candidate will be determined by the MICAT 2025 cutoff. These cutoffs for MICAT are usually based on data from past years and are here for reference. The MICAT cut off may change each year. Candidates must secure at least 3.5 marks in GD and 4 marks in PI to proceed with their candidature. General Awareness | 5.5-6.5 out of 25 |
