XAT Registration 2020 - XLRI, Jamshedpur will conduct XAT 2020 on the first Sunday of January 2020. The XAT registration 2020 will tentatively start from the third week of August 20, 2019, and the process is likely to continue until the second week of December 2019 (with late fee). The registration of XAT 2020 will be completely online. The process of filling the XAT 2020 application form will be divided into three parts - XAT registration, filling up the form and paying the application fee. The management aspirants who successfully fill the XAT application form 2020 along with the application fee would be able to download the admit card of XAT 2020 which will tentatively be released in the third week of December 2019. The application fee was revised for XAT 2019 and it’s likely to remain the same for next year’s exam. Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is conducted by XLRI for admission to more than 150 B-schools in the country. XAT Eligibility Criteria 2020

Aspirants must check the XAT eligibility criteria before filling the XAt application form. The same is described below:

  • Graduates (minimum 3 years) in any discipline from a recognised institute or university can apply.

  • Final year students can also apply provided they complete the course by June 2019.

  • Foreign candidates and NRIs need to apply through GMAT scores. Candidates belonging to Dubai and Kathmandu can apply for XAT directly as the exam will be held in these cities.

  • Aspirants applying through GMAT can register for XAT 2020 till December 31, 2019.

How to pay XAT Application Fee?
Candidates can pay XAT application form fee online using credit card/debit card or online banking.

Documents to keep handy before XAT Registration 2020


Class X, Class XII, Graduation and Masters degree (if applicable)


Candidates would need a recent passport size colour photograph in .jpg or .jpeg format to upload. The file size should be between 20 KB - 50 KB and dimensions should be 200 x 230 pixels. The picture should have been taken in light or white background. The face should be clear in the photograph otherwise the application may get rejected. The size of the scanned image should not more than 50 KB.


Applicants’ signature should be made on a white paper with a black ink pen. It should be scanned in 200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution and the file size should be between 10 KB - 20 KB. The dimensions of 140 x 60 pixels would be preferred.

How to do XAT 2020 Registration and fill XAT Application Form?

Candidates would need to follow the steps given below to register for XAT 2020:

  • Visit the official website of XAT 2020 or Click the link given above (The link will be available as and when the registration starts)

  • Click on the ‘Register’ tab 

  • Create a new account using your email id (You will receive your XAT ID and registration link on your email id)

  • Click on the XAT registration 2020 link to create XAT login password

  • After logging in to XAT 2020 account, candidates will have to choose the preferred exam city from the list of exam cities. 

  • Now, the next step is to enter the name, upload photograph and signature (as per the size mentioned in the table above)

  • Two separate links will be provided to upload the Photograph and Signature. Click on the respective links "Upload Photograph/Signature, select the location and upload the documents. 

  • Select citizenship 

  • Select the Programme (It’s an optional step)

  • Fill Preliminary and mandatory information such as name, date of birth, gender, parents’ name, category and contact details.

  • Now, enter educational qualification starting from Class X

  • Enter the details of work experience starting from the latest job. Candidates applying for XLRI GMP programme must have a minimum of five years experience as on May 31, 2020.

  • Pay the application fee as mentioned in the table above.

  • After completing the process, candidates are advised to take a print out of the application confirmation message

Change of XAT Test City Preference
Candidates can even change the choice of exam centre after completing the application process. This option will be provided only once to the candidates. Candidates need to write to [email protected] mentioning their XAT ID, Date of Birth, Father's Name, City Chosen and Updated city latest by November 30, 2019. This is only a one time option for the candidates. XLRI will have the final decision on the change in city preference. 

What after XAT Registration 2020
After completion of the XAT 2020 registration process, candidates would be able to download the XAT admit card 2020, from the third week of December 2019. The document will be available online on the official website. Aspirants would need to login with their XAT ID and password to download the admit card of XAT 2020. Around 90,000 candidates appear for the test every year.

Apart from XLRI Jamshedpur, XAT 2020 scores will be accepted by 150 other B-schools across India. Apart from XLRI, if the XAT aspirants wish to apply for any other XAT participating institute, they have to apply separately by visiting the institute’s official website.
