NMAT 2023 Section-Wise Scoring Pattern
Students will be scored according to their performance in each section of the NMAT exam. Each section of the NMAT exam will have a range of scaled marks, which will include the minimum and maximum marks that a candidate can obtain in the section. Calculation of NMAT Scaled Scores 2023
NMAT-scaled scores will be calculated based on a candidate's raw scores in each section of the exam. According to the information provided by GMAC, the scaled marks of NMAT will take into account any difference in the difficulty of the examination question papers. Thus, the scaled scores will accurately reflect a candidate's performance relative to the other students who will appear for the exam.
NMAT-scaled scores will be announced within 48 hours after a candidate has taken the test. Marks will be updated on the NMAT scorecard. The GMAC will not disclose the raw score of the applicants in the NMAT examination and the marks will be used only in the final percentile calculation of those selected for the NMAT examination. Candidates will be able to use the scaled marks to evaluate their performance in the exam without worrying about the difficulty level of the exam they will receive.
How to check NMAT percentile 2023
The final percentile in the NMAT will reveal how well a candidate will perform in the NMAT exam. The final percentile will give an idea of the candidate's score relative to all of the other candidates who will appear in the NMAT. The final percentile of a candidate will show the percentage of the total number of candidates who will score lower than the candidate in the examination.
Therefore, the final NMAT percentile will be calculated only after all the candidates have written the NMAT exam at the end of the year. The NMAT final percentile of a candidate's will be mentioned on the scorecard that will be obtained by a candidate and sent to various colleges for a shortlist of students. GMAC is expected to release the final percentile of candidates in the third week of January 2024.

If candidates have a score of 240 in NMAT exam 2023, then their percentile will be 66.67%. However, if the candidate score of 240 is the highest, then their NMAT percentile will be 100%ile. Similarly, a 99 percentile in the NMAT means that they have scored more than 99% of all the test-takers.

Before looking at how NMAT scores will be calculated, it is essential to understand the exam pattern of the NMAT exam. MAT and NMAT are both entrance exams conducted for admission into management program in India. While there maybe some overlap in terms of the general aptitude & reasoning sections, it's important to note that they are conducted by different bodies and have different focuses.
MAT covers sections like language comprehension, Mathematical skills, data analysis and sufficiency, intelligence and critical reasoning, and India and Global environment.
NMAT on the other hand, focuses on language skills, Quantitative analysis and logical reasoning.
MAT is conducted in either paper based or computer based but, NMAT is only computer based.
MAT scores are accepted by wide range of management schools across India. While NMAT score are primarily used for admission into NMIMS, and some other institutions.
Given these differences, it's advisable to study separately for each exam.
