NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is one of the most popular MBA entrance exams in India. One of the things that most students are interested in is comparing the NMAT score vs percentile with a particular NMAT cut-off, which will give them the opportunity to enter many good colleges such as NMIMS Mumbai and more. These two factors are considered when colleges shortlist students on the basis of their NMAT scorecard 2024.

The NMAT result will be followed by the announcement of the cutoff by various NMAT accepting colleges for their courses. The NMAT score and percentile will help candidates understand what a good score in the NMAT is. This article will explain all the important details about the calculation of NMAT scores and percentiles.

NMAT Score vs Percentile

An important point to note is that there is no absolute correlation between the NMAT score vs percentile. This means that you are not entitled to a certain percentage of the score on the NMAT. The NMAT percentile calculation will depend on the performance of all the candidates appearing for the NMAT 2024.

Therefore, based on the previous data of the exam, a correlation between the score and the percentile of NMAT can be observed. This information can help the candidates estimate their score and percentile in NMAT. Candidates can get an idea of their final NMAT percentile using the information given below.

Calculation of NMAT Scaled Scores 2024

NMAT-scaled scores will be calculated based on a candidate's raw scores in each section of the exam. According to the information provided by GMAC, the scaled marks of NMAT will take into account any difference in the difficulty of the examination question papers. Thus, the scaled scores will accurately reflect a candidate's performance relative to the other students who will appear for the exam.

NMAT-scaled scores will be announced within 48 hours after a candidate has taken the test. Marks will be updated on the NMAT scorecard. The GMAC will not disclose the raw score of the applicants in the NMAT examination and the marks will be used only in the final percentile calculation of those selected for the NMAT examination. Candidates will be able to use the scaled marks to evaluate their performance in the exam without worrying about the difficulty level of the exam they will receive.

NMAT Score vs Percentile 2024: What is the NMAT Percentile?

Since NMAT exam is conducted over a longer duration, the NMAT raw score is also known as scaled score. The NMAT percentile is only calculated after the conclusion of exam-taking window. Like any other MBA entrance exam, the NMAT percentile calculates candidate performance at par with the other test takers. For example, securing a 95 percentile in NMAT exam means that 95 percent of the test takers scored lower than you and you were among the top 5% percent of the NMAT test takers.

How to check NMAT percentile 2024

The final percentile in the NMAT will reveal how well a candidate will perform in the NMAT exam. The final percentile will give an idea of the candidate's score relative to all of the other candidates who will appear in the NMAT. The final percentile of a candidate will show the percentage of the total number of candidates who will score lower than the candidate in the examination.

Therefore, the final NMAT percentile will be calculated only after all the candidates have written the NMAT exam at the end of the year. The NMAT final percentile of a candidate's will be mentioned on the scorecard that will be obtained by a candidate and sent to various colleges for a shortlist of students. GMAC is expected to release the final percentile of candidates in the third week of January 2025.

NMAT Percentile Calculator

The final NMAT percentile is a reflection of the candidate's performance in the exam. Check out below the NMAT score to percentile calculator process:

If candidates have a score of 240 in NMAT exam 2024, then their percentile will be 66.67%. However, if the candidate score of 240 is the highest, then their NMAT percentile will be 100%ile. Similarly, a 99 percentile in the NMAT means that they have scored more than 99% of all the test-takers.

NMAT Score vs Percentile: What is the NMAT Score?

Before looking at how NMAT scores will be calculated, it is essential to understand the exam pattern of the NMAT exam. The NMAT will consist of three sections, each with a different number of questions and a specific time allotted to each section. The table below contains details regarding the NMAT test pattern.
