KMAT Eligibility Criteria 2019 – Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) prescribes the KMAT 2019 eligibility criteria. In order to appear for the exam, candidates must meet the KMAT eligibility criteria 2019. KMAT 2019 is a state-level entrance exam which was held in the paper-pen mode on October 20, 2019. According to the KMAT 2019 eligibility criteria, candidates must have a bachelor degree from a recognized university in Karnataka. There is no age bar to appear for the exam. Being able to understand the eligibility criteria is vital for each candidate before applying for KMAT. Aspirants who fail to meet the eligibility criteria set by KPPGCA will not be allowed to sit for the management entrance exam. Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a standardised state-level entrance examination for admission to post-graduation in management such as MBA programmes offered by 170 B-schools of Karnataka.

KMAT Eligibility Criteria 2019

The eligibility criteria of KMAT 2019 is based on UGC guidelines:

  • Age limit: Minimum 21 years old. No cap on maximum age.

  • Qualifying Exam: It is compulsory for candidates to hold a bachelors degree ( minimum 3 years duration)/master degree in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or equivalent.

  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must have passed the above-mentioned qualifying examination with at least 50 per cent marks. SC/ST candidates have the benefit of 5 per cent relaxation. Minimum qualifying examination marks for SC/ST is 40 per cent.

  • Reservation: 15 per cent seats reserved for SC, 7.5 per cent for ST, 27 per cent for OBC and 3 per cent seats reserved for PD.

  • Without the possession of necessary documents supporting their claim of completion of Bachelor's Degree, candidates can be removed from the process thereafter.

  • Shortlisted candidates will then be called for the selection process on the basis of their performance in KMAT. The scorecards of the candidates will be sent to the colleges

  • The selected candidates who have qualified in KMAT need to report to their respective college to secure admissions.

What after KMAT Eligibility Criteria 2019?

Candidates who want to appear for the entrance exam have to fill the KMAT application form 2019 in online mode. Test takers of KMAT 2019 can fill the form in online mode only. They also have to make a payment of Rs. 1000 towards the KMAT application fee. The payment can be in the form of Demand draft in favour of ‘KMAT 2019’ or can also be paid online using debit/credit card. Hello dear student,

I understand that you want to appear in this exam but dear student this is exam for students who have completed for appearing in the graduation. This exam is not for 12th pass or 12th appearing students. This is for the students who have done their graduation or in the last semester of the graduation. To be eligible for KMAT 2019, candidates must have completed graduation with minimum aggregate of 50%  it's a state level entrance test to admission in post graduation.

KMAT is  conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate College Association for admission into MBA and MCA program.


Eligibility Criteria are as follows-


MBA Program-


Candidates must have passed graduation with a minimum of 3 years duration or qualified  Master's degree from a recognised institute with minimum aggregate of 50%, however there's relaxation given to SC/ST candidates for 5%. Candidates from any stream are eligible to apply.



MCA Program-


Candidate must have studied Maths at 10+2 level or during Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% to be eligible for this program.



You can apply for KMAT in any of these program, once you're graduated with the required aggragate, by next year.

Hello Aspirant,

Candidates who have scored marks equal to or greater than the cut off marks are eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Candidates who wish to participate in KMAT counselling must check the official schedule on the website.

Those selected for the counselling process will get a counselling letter.

Original as well as a photocopy of the letter must be brought by the candidate during the counselling.

Please regularly check their official site for updates regarding the counselling dates. Only the candidates who have scored marks equal to or greater than the cut off marks are eligible to participate in the counselling process and those selected for the counselling process will get a counselling letter.
