is CMAT easier to score than MAT score?

Niveditha 12th Nov, 2019

It all depends on your abilities to perform or solve the questions. When you are good in solving simple questions with full confidence then go for MAT. When you are good in analyzing the questions then go for the CMAT exam.

Compared to MAT the difficulty level of CMAT is quite high. Although both the exams have the same syllabus but CMAT is considered as difficult exam.

The sections of MAT are Language comprehension, intelligence and critical reasoning, data analysis and sufficiency, mathematical skills, Indian and global environment. Although the last section that is the general awareness will not be considered for overall score. It is not necessary to attend the section in MAT.

The duration of MAT exam is 150 minutes and 200 questions where each question one mark and there is negative marks of 1/4 for each wrong answer.

CMAT had 4 sections with 25 questions in each section and the time for the exam is 180 minutes.

MAT can be taken four times a year, so if  you miss once then there are other chances to take up the exam and correct the mistakes once which were done already.

The CMAT exam is held only once a year and must be taken carefully without any chaos.

  • Indian and Global Environment section tests you on your GK on topics like Business Awareness, Politics, Sports, Books and Authors, Entertainment and Social Causes.
  • Command on your English, Grammar, Vocabulary, Understanding of the given paragraph are of more importance. Reading English NewsPaper will also help you in your preparation
  • Under Data Analysis,Comparison of data, Data Analysis, taking clues, interpreting missing data, coming to conclusions and making future projections will be covered under this Category. The questions here are interlinked and so if you get one formula correct, cracking the next few questions will be easy. So it's important to memorise and practise formulae. hi, i am looking for mat and my mathematics section is week, suggest me how to start self preparation from basic?

Mayank Chowdhary 9th Nov, 2019

Make a timetable, follow it daily. Try to understand the concepts in a detailed manner by maybe taking the help of some videos, or notes, etc and then byheart the formulae. After that, make your own self noted which you can refer at times and can also help you for last minute revision. Don't forget to solve the mock tests as there is a pattern which gets followed every year - like the type of questions asked, etc. And remove the fear from mind that you are weak in maths and believe in yourself that you can do it and the you're half way there.

Best wishes. Thank you.
