Solution:

If polynomial is exactly divisible by x + 7, then on putting x = -7, value of polynomial must be zero.

On substituting x = - 7 in the polynomial

• (-7)⁴ + 10 (-7)³ + 25 (-7)² + 15 (-7) + m = 0
• 2401 – 3430 + 1225 – 105 + m = 0
• 91 + m = 0
• m = -91

Q. The population of a village is 5000. If in a year, the number of males were to increase by 5% and that of females by 3% annually, the population would grow to 5202 at the end of the year. If M is the number of males and F is the number of females in the village, then (M,F)=

Initial population = 5000

New population = 5202

Percentage increase = [(5202 – 5000)/5000] x 100%
