IIM Entrance Exam
IIM Entrance Exam 2020 - Every year more than two lakh candidates register themselves to take admission in Indian Institute of Management through IIM entrance exam. CAT i.e. Common Admission Test is the entrance exam of IIM. Any candidate who wishes to take admission in any of the 20 Indian Institutes of Management will be required to first clear the CAT entrance exam. For the academic year 2021 admissions IIM entrance exam 2020 registration began from August 5. To register for IIM entrance exam, no age restriction is set by IIMs i.e. any candidate without any specific age limit can give the exam and take admission in IIMs. Candidates who will clear the entrance exam of IIM will be called for further selection rounds which will include WAT, GD-PI. CAT is a National level entrance test which is conducted once in a year by IIMs on a rotational basis. IIM Entrance Exam - CAT 2020
The entrance exam which is the gateway to India’s top MBA institutes i.e. any of the 20 IIMs or other top B-Schools than IIMs is Common Admission Test. CAT 2020 will be conducted on November 22 in computer-based mode by IIM Indore. The exam is usually conducted in two sessions because of wide audience engagement and participation. Due to high no. of registration and execution of IIM entrance exam in two sessions, CAT normalization process is used by IIMs. Note that the CAT 2020 result shows both scaled scores and percentile scores, hence to scale the scores, the normalization process is important.

Registration of IIM Entrance Exam 2020
To take admission in IIMs or any other top institute for the academic year 2021, candidates will have to register themselves for the IIM entrance exam i.e. CAT. The CAT 2020 exam will be conducted by IIM Indore. The IIM entrance exam registration process began from August 5 and will continue till September 23 as per the exam dates of CAT 2020. IIM Indore will also provide the facility to correct the application form tentatively in the last week of September in case there is any discrepancy. While filling the application form, candidates will have to select any four test cities whereby they are comfortable giving the entrance exam of IIM. These test cities will be the CAT 2020 exam centres.
IIM Entrance Exam Eligibility Criteria 2020
Details related to the age limit, qualifying exams, marks required to appear, nationality etc., are included in the eligibility criteria of CAT 2020. According to the IIM entrance exam CAT, the eligibility criteria of CAT 2020 will be defined by the respective IIM. Complete details related to the CAT eligibility criteria 2020 will be mentioned in the notification released by IIMs for CAT. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form of IIM entrance exam. Given below is the eligibility criteria of IIM entrance exam which can be referred by candidates.
Educational Qualification - All candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized or statutory institute/college as incorporated by an Act of Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India
Qualifying Marks - Candidates belonging to the General, EWS and NC-OBC categories must have an aggregate score of at least 50% or equivalent CGPA. While 5% relaxation is given to candidates belonging Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PWD) categories every year for IIM entrance exam
Final Year - Candidates who are in their final year of college are also allowed to appear for the entrance exam of IIM i.e. CAT on the condition that they have to present their qualifying scorecards within the stipulated time
Age Limit - To appear for IIM entrance exam, no age limit is set by IIMs
IIM Entrance Exam Pattern 2020
Before starting the IIM entrance exam preparation candidates must have a look on the exam pattern of CAT 2020. Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Ability will be the three sections of the IIM entrance exam which is to be solved by candidates in three hour time duration. As per the exam pattern of IIM 2020, for every correct answer three marks will be awarded and each wrong answer will lead to deduction of one mark. Entrance exam of IIM i.e. CAT 2020 will be conducted in computer-based mode most likely in two sessions.

What After IIM Entrance Exam: CAT 2020
Qualified candidates of IIM entrance exam will be called for further admission rounds. The selection procedure of IIM requires candidates to appear for Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined activities i.e. IIM entrance exam, Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI), work experience, academic profile and much more. The result of CAT (IIM entrance exam) will contain complete details of the candidate’s performance. CAT percentile is calculated on the basis of scaled scores obtained by candidates. On the basis of the final result of IIM entrance test and selection procedure, candidates will be able to take admission in Master of Business Administration or PGP courses.

Im Btech Final year student , so do I need to bring any documents relatedto prove as a final year student to the test centre ??
- Duly filled CAT admit card along with the self declaration.
- Valid photo ID proof like Passport or Voter ID Card or Aadhaar Card or PAN Card or Driving license or Employer ID Card or College ID.
- A transparent ball point pen
- Two Additional photographs (For attendance sheet)
- Personal small hand sanitizer
- Personal transparent water bottle
Any other documents or stationary items will not be entertained at the exam centre. So you don't need to carry any documents to show that you are final year candidate.

The cat exam is based on three sections.
1) Quantitative aptitude
2) Data interpretation and logical reasoning
3) Verbal ability
Total 100 questions are asked from all three sections. There is time limit of 1 hr for each section and you can't swipe between the sections.
The quant section is based on maths of class 6-10 std so if you have good basic knowledge of class 6-10 maths then it will be a plus point for you. Start from zero level of each chapter and build your concepts and then move to questions. Try to solve as many questions as possible it will help you to get more types of questions and your solving ability will also increase simultaneously.
For DI and LR section solve 2 sets of each DI and LR daily. To score good in this section all you need is practice and speed.
In verbal section mostly questions are from RCs and to solve RC sets in such less time all you need is reading speed and understanding the idea of the author and it can be achieved through reading newspaper. Read newspaper on daily basis. Apart from newspaper reading build habit of reading online contents as paper will be CBT.
Once you are over through all the syllabus start giving mock test. As by giving mock test you will come to know about your performance and how much you are prepared for your exam. If you score low in your mock then don't bother about that just have a target that you have to increase your score as compared to your previous mock score.

The eligibility for CAT is that a candidate must have passed bachelor's degree from a recognized board or university or completed a professional degree (CS/CA/ICWA). Diploma is not equivalent to bachelor's degree. So you are not eligible to appear for CAT when you are in the final year of Diploma. You are eligible for CAT if you are in final year or completed B.Tech after completion of Diploma provided that you must fulfill the other eligibility criteria.
