Note:
Apart from IIMs which have declared their cutoff for the current academic year, the other B-School cutoffs are based on that of last year. It is expected that the cutoffs will remain the same or on similar range.

You can estimate your admission possibility at top CAT participating B-schools by using Careers360 CAT Pathfinder tool.

As you can see, the CAT cut off percentiles for different set of B-schools ranges from 50 to 100. While the top B-schools like IIMs, DMS IITs, FMS Delhi University have cut off as high as 95+ percentile, many tier II and tier III B-schools with lower ranks have cut off range starting from 45 percentile.

MICA and IRMA do not have a particular CAT cut off but accepts the application of all the candidates who have taken CAT and other national MBA entrance exam and further conducts its own admission test MICAT and IRMA Issues of Social Concern respectively to shortlist candidates for Group Exercise and Personal Interview rounds. According to Alliance School of Business (Alliance University), Bangalore the institute does not have a particular CAT cutoff but 70 percentile and above will give the prospective student a fair chance.

However, there is a caveat. The cut offs of the top B-schools accepting CAT scores is only an indication of the quality of students the institutes look for admitting. Apart from the cut offs there are various criteria for shortlisting and selection such as past academic records, work experience to name a few. Hence it cannot be guaranteed that obtaining the cut off percentile will ensure a call from the B-schools you have applied.

Careers360 will update you on the CAT cut off of such institutes as and when they declare the same.

if i obtain 80 marks in quantitative aptitude 80 marks in data interpection and 80 marks in verbal reasoning what is my total percentile of cat because my 10th and 12 marks is low ?

Ankit Dahiya Student Expert 6th Apr, 2020
Hello,
Your CAT percentile has nothing to do with class X and XII marks.
The percentile indicates your performance relative to the other candidates. For example if you get 80 percentile it means your score is more than 80% of the appearing students.
The percentipe is calculated as:
P=(R/N) 100
where R=Rank of student and N=Number of students who appeared.

I have 96% in 10th 94 %in 12th and 7 3 cgpa in btech and around 18 months of work experience..how much do I need to score in CAT 2020 to get a call from IIMA/B /C or FMS ?

Prakarsh Kaushik 5th Apr, 2020

Hello,

For getting in top B-schools of India like IIM-A, IIM-B, IIM-C, FMS Delhi etc. you need good marks not only in in CAT but also in Class 10th, 12th and your graduation. If you have some work experience then it gives you more advantages.

There is no specific cutoff of percentile on which you can get into top IIMs. Since your marks in 10th, 12th is above 90% and in graduation above 7 CGPA with work experience, you can expect a call from IIM-A, IIM-B, IIM-C if you have at least 99 percentile in CAT .

For FMS also you should aim for 99+ percentile in CAT and also keep in mind that if you score 95+ percentile in VARC Section it will increase your chances of getting in.
