In this article we will share with you the details about the CAT 2015 Selection Procedure. The process is basically a two-step process, which is broadly described in this article below.
CAT 2015 Selection Procedure
The first step of the selection or the admission process is to take the CAT 2015. The IIMs have declared their individual admission criteria. This would include the CAT 2015 cutoff and the other selection criteria such as past academic profile, work experience, diversity factor etc.

Once the CAT 2015 result is declared, the IIMs and other participating institutes declare the shortlist of candidates on the basis of the CAT 2015 Cutoff. After the shortlist, the second step of the CAT 2015 Selection Procedure starts.
In the second stage of the process, the candidates will have to appear for the Group Discussion, Written Ability Test and Personal Interview rounds. While Personal Interview round is common in all the B-schools’ admission process, GD and WAT rounds vary from B-School to B-School.
Over the years, the B-schools have started to prefer WAT rounds more than the GD rounds. The IIMs conduct WAT and PI rounds only.
The other factors which will also be considered for the CAT 2015 Selection Procedure include past academic records, relevant and significant work experience, extracurricular activities and diversity (gender and academic) factors. These factors vary from B-School to B-School.
While the IIMs conduct the admission process individually, the new IIMs conduct a Common Admission Process (CAP) which includes WAT and PI rounds. For the CAT 2015 Selection Procedure, the new IIMs will declare a common shortlist where the candidates have to appear for the above mentioned rounds. On the basis of their performance, the individual IIMs will declare the final admission list.
CAT 2015 has been conducted on November 29, 2015 in a single day window. 1,79,602 candidates had appeared for the test in two sessions. CAT 2015 has been conducted by IIM Ahmedabad and Tata Consultancy Services will be the online testing partner.

Hello rajendra, for pursuing MBA, any one of the IIM's would be preferable, mostly the IIM ahmedabad would be excellent. So , now I tell you the top insititutes which offer MBA through CAT are-
Hope this helps.
CAT is a National level Common Entrance test to pursue MBA in IIM's and Business Schools. To write CAT exam one must have passed graduation from a recognised Board of University. Final year graduation students are also allowed to write the CAT exam. If you do MBA in an IIM or Top B school, the career and placement opportunities are excellent. As a fresher one can earn minimum 5-10 lakhs after MBA.
In addition to that CAT exam is of 3 hours duration comprising of Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data interpretation and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude.
All the best.,
The Cut off to IIM's and Business Schools depend on the Highest mark and difficulty level of the exam. As there is no official Highest mark, we have to wait till the Results are released. 87 percentile in CAT is a good Score. You can get good Business Schools but difficult to get IIM's.
Most IIMs take WAT or the written ability test where one is given around 15- 30 minutes to write an essay on any given topic. Only two IIMs- Kozhikode and Shillong take GD. But all of them conduct Personal Interview or PI.
The weightage of CAT score, academic qualifications, work experience, GD/ WAT and PI differs from college to college. You can find the detailed list on the given link: https://www.imsindia.com/CAT/iims-shortlisting-criteria.html
Whether you get a CAT call depend upon a lot of factors.First of it depends on which IIM you are looking to get into.Your grades in 10nth 12th and BTech is very good. But your CAT score is a little low.But it doesn't matter.IIMs like Indore give more weightage to your 10nth and 12th marks. Some don't even consider your undergraduate marks. So it all depends.I think you have a good chance of getting a CAP call for sure. All the best
