IIFT Final Merit List Criteria 2026

IIFT prepares a final merit list based on several parameters including the GDPI results. Students need to clear the complete IIFT final selection criteria in order to get added to the IIFT final merit list 2026 and receive the admission letter. Given below is the complete IIFT final selection criteria which students need to go through to get an idea about their chances of getting the IIFT admission letter. Admission Procedure of IIFT 2026

After the IIFT result declaration of IIFT, the admission process for the MBA programs BA/IB will start. The students will have to accept the offer and make the payment to confirm their IIFT seat. Given below is the detailed breakdown of IIFT admission process 2026.

1. Offer Acceptance

The students who are placed in the IIFT final merit list 2026 need to accept the admission offer within the given deadline after logging in to the IIFT admission portal.

2. Admission Fee Payment

The selected students will have to pay the admission confirmation fee within the given time period. Failing to complete the payment within the given time period generally results in cancellation of the offer and movement of seats to waitlisted candidates. After receiving the admission letter, the candidates need to pay an amount of Rs.3.2 Lakh as the first installment fee to confirm their seat.

3. Document Submission

The college will ask for the student’s documents for verification. The documents include scanned copies of-

• Admission Offer Letter

• CAT 2025 Scorecard

• Class X Certificate & Marksheet

• Class XII Certificate & Marksheet

• Graduation Documents (All Semester Marksheets & Degree Certificate)

• Work Experience Documents

• Category Certificate (If Applicable)

4. Campus Allocation and Programme Finalization

Candidates have a choice between two MBA programs at IIFT- MBA in Business Analytics and MBA in International business. After choosing the programme, candidates may choose allotted campuses among-

• IIFT Delhi

• IIFT Kolkata

• IIFT Kakinada

• IIFT Gift City

5. New Batch Commencement

The academic year will most certainly begin around June-July 2026. Hence, the students are required to plan their travel and accommodation accordingly. Keep checking the official IIFT website to get timely updates regarding IIFT admissions 2026.

IIFT Waitlist Movement

Candidates who are not offered the admission call letter get added to the waitlist movement list of IIFT. The candidates in the waitlist movement can still get a call for admission if vacant seats are left after the admission process or due to other circumstances under which a student fails to get admission after receiving a call. Numerous factors play a major role in affecting the waitlist movement of IIFT. Some of them are discussed below.

• Candidate Decisions- The number of candidates who don’t accept the IIFT admission offer and choose another college instead can open up spots for waitlisted applicants.

• Overlap with Other Institutions- Admissions timeline overlapping with other colleges like IIMs, ISB, can affect a candidate’s choice and impact the waitlist movement.

The IIFT waitlists movements are handled in 2 phases- External waitlists and Internal waitlists movements. External waitists move when the candidates reject the IIFT admission offer entirely. Internal movement occurs when candidates are upgraded from their lower-preference campus (eg. Kolkata) to a higher preference (eg Delhi) as the seats open up.

Any update can be shared on a student’s registered email id or student portal regarding the IIFT results 2026. Hence, the students need to keep checking their email address for further updates and take related actions if they see any. Students need to pay the waitlisting fee of Rs.20,000 to stay in the waitlist movement. In case the college seat is not confirmed, the waitlisting fee is refunded by the college.
