Questions related to CAT

Have a question related to CAT ?

Hello Manas,

Yes, it is possible to get a call from BLACKI (IIMs - Bangalore, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Calcutta, and Indore) with a 99 percentile in CAT , even if your extracurricular activities are limited and your academic profile is average (8/7/8). However, admission to these top institutes is highly competitive, and the overall selection process considers several factors:

  1. CAT Score : A 99 percentile is a strong score and will certainly make you eligible for consideration.

  2. Academic Profile : While your academic profile might not be exceptional, IIMs generally look for consistency in your academic performance and also consider 12th and graduation marks .

  3. Work Experience : Some work experience can improve your chances, but it is not mandatory.

  4. Extracurricular Activities : While not having many extracurriculars may reduce your chances slightly, IIMs primarily focus on CAT score , academic background , and personal interview performance . If you perform well in the GD / PI rounds, you can still get a call.

So, with a 99 percentile in CAT, focus on performing well in the interview and GD rounds, and you still have a strong chance of being considered for BLACKI IIMs .

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
