XAT 2027: Exam Dates, Registration Started, Syllabus, Pattern, Admit Card, Result, Cutoff

The XAT exam 2027 registration process has began on July 15, 2026. Candidates are advised to complete their XAT 2027 application process before the last date, December 06, 2026. Candidates can fill out the XAT exam form online at xatonline.in for the XAT examination 2027, which is scheduled to take place on January 03, 2027. Candidates applying for the XAT exam 2027 have to pay the XAT exam fee of Rs 2300. Those who are interested in XLRI programmes have to pay an additional fee of Rs. 200 each. Those who are applying for the PGDM(GM) through GMAT/GRE need to pay Rs. 2600/-.  The XAT 2027 registration fee for NRIs/PIO/OCI/Foreigner candidate is Rs 5000/-

Correction in the XAT Exam 2027 application:

To change the test city preference, candidates can write to admis@xlri.ac.in mentioning their XAT exam ID, Father's Name, Date of Birth, chosen exam city, and updated city by the date specified by XLRI. This XAT exam form correction facility will be activated from December 7 to 8, 2026. The change in the test city option is provisional, and XLRI will take the final decision on it.

How do I retrieve the XAT password?

In case a candidate forgot their XAT credentials, they can retrieve their XAT exam credentials by following the provided steps.

Step 1- Click on the XAT exam registration tab

Step 2- Now click on the "Forgot Password" button

Step 3- Candidates will have to provide their registered email ID and phone number (Email and contact number should be the same as they used at the time of XAT exam registration).

Step 4- Enter the required captcha code

Step 6- XAT exam registration ID and password will be mailed to candidate's registered email ID

What is XAT exam eligibility?

Before filling out the application form for the XAT exam 2027, candidates are advised to go through the XAT exam eligibility criteria. Details of the educational qualification required, marks, age limit, and related information will be mentioned under the XAT 2027 eligibility criteria. XLRI Jamshedpur will predefine the eligibility criteria for XAT 2027.

• The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years' duration or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university.
• Students in the final year of their bachelor's degree or awaiting their results are also eligible to apply for the XAT exam 2027.
• There is no specific CGPA or percentage mentioned that has to be obtained at graduation. 
• No age limit has been specified for the XAT exam.

One of the key points prescribed by XLRI in the XAT eligibility criteria is that the candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and phone number throughout the selection process.

NOTE: The mere fulfilment of the minimum XAT eligibility criteria does not ensure consideration for shortlisting by XLRI, SPJIMR, XIMB, IMT, TAPMI, or other B-schools in which the applicant applies for PGDM admission.

As per the paper pattern, the question paper will have four sections - Decision-making, Verbal and Logical Ability, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Ability (DI & QA), and General Knowledge (GK). Analytical Essay Writing section is scrapped this year and the total number of questions also reduced to 95. The XAT 2027 exam pattern states that it have objective (multiple-choice) questions and one subjective question.

General Knowledge (GK) Score: The score from the General Knowledge (GK) section will be exclusively utilized by XLRI Jamshedpur for its final selection process.

Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): This year, the Analytical Essay Writing (AEW) will be administered during the Group Discussion & Personal Interview (GD / PI) processes.

XLRI will activate the XAT 2027 mock test link in online mode on its official website from November 19 to November 20, 2026. Candidates interested in the XAT 2027 examination may appear for the XAT 2027 mock test. Interested candidates can register for the XAT mock test before September 24, 2026. To ace the XAT entrance exam, candidates are advised to appear for the mock test that will be released by the conducting body. A mock test helps candidates understand the XAT exam pattern and design of the online XAT test 2027.

How to access the XAT test 2027 mock test?

Follow the steps below to access the mock test of the XAT exam 2027.

• Open the official website, xatonline.in
• Click on the "XAT Mock Test" link on the web page
• A new window will open and you can click on the "Sign In" button (No need to use login credentials)
• Again a new window will open. Read the instructions carefully and click on the "Next" button.

The XAT exam 2027 admit card will be available on December 20, 2026, on the official website.  XAT 2027 admit card includes all the details about the entrance test, such as XAT exam centre details, candidate’s roll number, reporting time, and exam day guidelines. Candidates will be able to download the admit card for XAT after entering their registered email ID and password.

XAT 2027 exam day guidelines

• Carry the XAT 2027 exam admit card along with a valid photo ID as specified.
• Paste a photograph on the admit card of XAT and put your signature in the given space in front of the invigilator in the exam hall

How to Challenge XAT Exam Answer Key?

To send objections against the XAT answer keys. Candidates should login and find the "Objection Window" in the dashboard. Then, enter the required details and upload the valid supporting documents. Finally, submit your objection.

Xavier School of Management (XLRI) will announce XAT 2027 results tentatively on January 16, 2027, in online mode. Candidates will be able to download their XAT exam 2027 scorecard and check their sectional and overall percentiles until March 2027. 

XLRI will also send the hard copy of the XAT 2027 scorecard to the candidate’s residence but the applicant needs to pay Rs 300 in the form of a Demand Draft (DD) in favour of XLRI Jamshedpur, payable at Jamshedpur. Following the announcement of the XAT exam results, XLRI and other member institutes will soon release the cutoff to shortlist candidates for GD and PI.

How to check the XAT Exam 2027 Result?

• Click on the login tab on the page.
• Type the registered email and Password.
• Click on the "XAT Score Card" button.
• The result will appear on the display.
• Download and take two or three printouts of the same.

What after the XAT exam result?

Candidates must keep a copy of the scorecard cum result of XAT 2027 till the admissions are over. The scores of the XAT will be used by all XLRI campuses and 160 B-schools for admissions to their management programmes. XAT exam is the screening test based on which candidates will be shortlisted for the selection process comprising GD and PI.

The admission process in XLRI depends on the performance in three major areas- Candidate's exam score, their academic records, and performance in the Personal Interview (PI) round. There are three stages through which XLRI selection process is completed, they are:

Stage 1- Candidate's performance in XAT exam

Stage 2- Shortlisting of candidates by XLRI for Personal Interview (PI)

Stage 3- XLRI final selection process 2027 comprising Personal Interview (PI) round

XAT 2027 cutoff will be released by XLRI Jamshedpur for each program. Candidates who meet the cut-off specified by the institute will have to appear for the next round of selection procedures, which include group discussion and personal interview rounds. 

The cutoff of the XAT exam is the minimum marks to be scored by a candidate in order to qualify for the admission process. The cutoff is determined by some important factors, which include the 

• difficulty level of the XAT exam
• number of candidates appearing 
• the availability of seats, and
• previous year's cut off trends. 

If a candidate meets the XAT exam 2027 cutoff criterion, she/he will be shortlisted for the selection rounds- Group Discussion and Personal Interview. 

The XAT exam cutoff is usually different at each institute. Meeting the XAT cutoff criterion is the first stage of the admission process. If the test taker qualifies, s/he attends GD, WAT, and PI. The overall performance in each round, along with the candidates' academic scores, will be considered before the final selection.

Candidates who qualify for the XAT cutoff will have to take part in XAT 2027 counselling. In order to participate in XAT counselling, they will have to first register for the counselling process by entering their login credentials on the official website, after which they are required to pay the respective counselling fee. Step 4: After the registration is done, the candidates have to choose and lock in their preferred programme in the institute

The selection procedure of the XAT exam will usually start in the month of February 2027, after the announcement of the XAT result. The selection process includes GD, Essay Writing, and a Personal Interview. First, XLRI, its 11-member institutes, and other XAT participating institutes shortlist the test takers on the basis of the cutoff. 

Then the shortlisted one attends the mentioned selection rounds. Many institutes do not conduct all three rounds. Past academic scores, work experience (if any), profile, and XAT score will be considered along with the performance in XAT selection rounds for the final admission.

 The XAT Exam 2027 selection process includes the following steps:

• Appear for XAT exam 2027
• Candidate's shortlisting based on the cut off of participating institutes.
• Selection rounds: Group Discussion/ Essay Writing & Personal Interview
• Final selection will be done on the basis of the candidate's performance in the selection rounds.
