Visit the CAT registration tab on the official website iimcat.ac.in.
Click on the “New Candidate Registration” button.
After being located on the “CAT 2026 registration” page, enter the important details like name of the candidate, date of birth, email address, country, mobile number, email id etc.
Further, fill in the academic and qualification details along with the work experience details (if applicable).
Pay the CAT 2026 registration fees in online mode.
Take multiple copies of the CAT application form for further use.
Candidates must keep ready the documents given below to avoid any last-minute hassle while registering for the CAT exam 2026.
Academic marksheet documents- Class X and XII
Graduation marksheet and other related documents
Work experience letter and related documents (if applicable)
Scanned passport-sized photograph (<80kb)
Proof of Identity- Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, etc
Category certificate or reservation certificate, wherever applicable

Candidates will require their recently clicked passport-sized photograph and scanned signature for CAT 2026 registration. On the basis of the official CAT registration guidelines, the photo and signature uploads should meet the following criteria given below.
Make sure that the photograph and the signature are in JPG/JPEG format only.
The passport-sized photograph should be recent and taken against a white background for better clarity.
Make sure that none of the files exceed 80kb size. In case of a larger file size, use file compressors to meet the file size requirements.
The signature should be made using dark ink on white paper and needs to be scanned clearly.
Even after the CAT registration is complete, candidates must preserve the same photograph used during the registration, as it may be required during later stages of the admission process.
