TS ICET Eligibility Criteria: The candidates must have completed their Graduation from a recognised university with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate.
CAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria: The candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any stream from a recognised university with 50% marks.
The Analytical Ability section was divided into Data Sufficiency, Data Analysis, and Reasoning, with most questions being moderate and based on basic concepts like mensuration, graphs, and arrangements.
Data Analysis questions involved interpreting pie charts, line graphs, and Venn diagrams, with a mix of formula-based and logical questions.
The Mathematical Ability section was lengthy and calculation-heavy, requiring strong conceptual clarity and speed to solve around 75 questions efficiently.
Many quantitative questions were formula-driven, but some required a deeper understanding and application of concepts, making the section moderately difficult.
The Communication Ability section focused on reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and business terminology, with overall easy to moderate difficulty and mostly familiar questions.
CAT is moderate to high in difficulty because it tests not just knowledge, but the ability to think critically under pressure.
Questions, especially in LRDI and Quant, are often layered and require multiple steps of reasoning, making them time-consuming and tricky.
The Verbal section focuses heavily on interpretation and inference, where answers are not obvious and require careful reading.

With the TS ICET counselling process approaching, candidates must clearly understand each stage to avoid confusion and delays. The process begins with payment of the counselling fee, followed by document verification at designated centres. After verification, candidates need to complete the option entry by selecting their preferred colleges. Seats are then allotted based on rank, category, and choices filled. Finally, candidates must pay the tuition fee and complete self-reporting to confirm admission.
The CAT does not have a common counselling process for all the colleges. The IIM colleges' counselling round has two rounds: the Written Ability Test (WAT) and the Personal Interview (PI) for MBA admission. While other colleges have a simple counselling round for the final admission round.
TS ICET and CAT differ significantly in terms of difficulty level and the range of colleges they offer. While TS ICET provides admission to state-level MBA colleges in Telangana, CAT opens doors to top national institutes. Choosing between them depends on your target colleges, preparation level, and career goals.
