CMAT cutoffs for different institutions will be released on individual college websites. As per the guidelines and policies of the Central and different State Governments, a certain percentage of seats is reserved mandatorily for candidates from reserved categories (SC and ST). They also get a specific relaxation in the cutoff scores/percentile. It is done to give them an equal opportunity for attaining quality higher education from premium institutes of the nation.

CMAT cutoff 2023 for different categories is presented in the table below. It is a generalized version of the cutoff percentile that candidates from various categories should aim for to get admission to their desired MBA college.

The CMAT cutoff of different institutes is generally on the higher side for candidates from the General category. The CMAT cutoff for colleges like JBIMS can be as high as 99.99 percentile. The CMAT cutoff for the General category across colleges is given below.

Candidates from reserved categories can elevate their quality of life to a notch above through the reservation granted to them by the Constitution. The CMAT cutoff for Reserved category candidates is mentioned in the table below.

A score of 200 is pretty good for a candidate from the reserved category. It will enable them to seek admission to a good enough management institute. For General category candidates, a score above 300 should be good enough to secure a good MBA/PGDM college.
There is no reservation when it comes to the CMAT exam. Candidates from reserved categories do get a relaxation of 50% in the CMAT registration fees. The colleges accepting CMAT scores do have a reservation as per their seat matrix across the different courses offered.
15% of seats are reserved for SC category students while 7.5% of seats are reserved for ST category candidates. OBC candidates (non-creamy layer) are given a reservation of 27% of seats. These are the guidelines mentioned by the Government of India.
The registration fee for CMAT to be paid by the candidates of the General category is Rs. 2000. The candidates from reserved categories are only charged an amount of 1000 INR for CMAT registration. The CMAT registration is done through the NTA website.

Some colleges that accept CMAT scores include JBIMS, GIM Goa, KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, SIMSREE, GLIM Chennai, PUMBA, and XISS Ranchi. Some colleges, like KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, use CMAT scores to determine admission, but also consider other factors like personal interviews and group discussions.
