IIM Graduation Marks Weightage will be released by all the IIMs for IIM MBA admission 2026-28. IIM Admission policy conveys how many marks are allotted for graduation by each IIM to shortlist the applicants to attend the interview rounds and release of final IIM admission merit list. Around 5% to 20% weightage of graduation marks are assigned by the IIMs. The weightage of graduation marks in IIM Ahmedabad comes to around 10% and for IIM Calcutta it is 20%. IIM graduation marks weightage will be revised every year based on the number of candidates applying for the IIM MBA. IIM Graduation Weightage refers to the marks allocated by the IIMs to shortlist the applicants for further IIM MBA admission process based on their academic performance in the bachelor’s degree. The graduation marks for IIM play a crucial role in the IIM admission process, shortlisting the applicants to attend the personal interview/WAT/GD rounds. Thousands of students apply for the IIM MBA every year, but the total number of MBA seats available at IIM is 5500. To choose the best candidates for IIM MBA admission among all the applicants, the IIM graduation marks are significant. MBA applicants who performed well in academics, especially in HSC and bachelor’s degree have a higher chance of getting shortlisted for IIM MBA admission along with their CAT 2025. IIM shortlist will be released after the declaration of CAT results based on the marks achieved by the applicants in the CAT 2025, Class 10th, Class 12th, graduation, and work experience. The composite score calculated based on all the parameter decides the chances of getting an IIM MBA admission. Work Experience | Extra points (from 1–5) are given to candidates with work experience. For this, a range is defined from lowest to highest. The points for IIM work experience vary for each campus. |
Common Admission Test is the only MBA entrance exam accepted for IIM MBA admission. All the IIMs release their IIM admission criteria mentioning the eligibility requirements to apply for the course, sectional and category-wise CAT weightage. IIM admission policy specifies the IIM graduation weightage score to shortlist the applicants for further rounds of the MBA admission 2026 process. The final IIM MBA admission offer letter is issued to the selected candidates who scored good marks in the above selection parameters. The confirmation of the MBA seat will happen only after the payment of MBA fees and document verification.

If you filled the UGC NET form under EWS but you don’t have a valid EWS certificate, then forget using the EWS category. They won’t accept it. You’ll automatically be treated as General category during document verification.
And no, this won’t make your form “invalid” or “illegal.” It just means you won’t get the EWS benefit.
So yes — you can still go for General category posts and Professor recruitment. Just don’t try to submit a fake/invalid certificate; that will get you disqualified.

If your CAT admit card has a different date of birth than your Aadhaar card, you should get it corrected immediately . Here’s what you can do:
Check the CAT website : Log in to your candidate portal and look for the option to correct personal details.
Contact the CAT helpdesk : Email or call them explaining the issue. Attach a copy of your Aadhaar card as proof.
Do not ignore it : The date of birth must match your ID, otherwise you may face problems at the exam or during admission.
