Apart from that, there are other factors which are the part of the selection process of the top management institutes. After the shortlisting candidates on the basis of CAT score, candidates need to participate in the following steps.
Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI)
Final Selection
Check the Selection Process and Criteria: Unlike the IIMs or other B-schools which are evading the Group Discussion (GD), but in above-provided institutes it is prevalent. So, candidates are advised to do their preparation for Group Discussion (GD) round. Apart from that, candidates prepare for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) round.

How to Check & Choose MBA Option?
Despite having high CAT percentile, you may not be able to decide which, out of the top MBA colleges accepting 80 to 90 percentile in CAT, should be chosen. Before making your decision, you should consider the following:
- Approvals & Recognitions: The MBA/PGDM should be AICTE Approved or UGC recognized
- Program Fee: There are top MBA colleges with low fee of Rs 2 to 6 lakhs, like FMS, JBIMS. If your CAT percentile matches the requirement, pursuing your MBA from such institutes is no different than pursuing it from IIM A, B, C where the fee range is between 21 to 23 lakhs. Higher the fee bigger will be hole in your pocket.
- Programs Offered: Better to check the programs offered by the B-school before submitting the application for admission. If you wish to do MBA in Finance and the institute does not offer it, there is no use applying for admission
- Placements: Choose the best MBA college which has a consistently good placement record and a rising average salary.
- Faculty: The institute with highly qualified and research oriented faculty should be the first choice.
- Infrastructure: The institute campus must be good and should be well equipped with latest study material, library, wi-fi and should be conducive for education.
- Students’ Hostel: There are many IIMs and other MBA colleges which do not have their own hostels at the campus. It reduces the peer learning. So chooses the MBA college with hostel available at the campus.

I have got JEE mains rank of 5577 and VIT rank of 942. in VIT got CSE in cat 1. kindly advise whether to join VIT or NIT
Greetings!
Being a VIT student, I would strongly recommend you against it! Now I not at all mean it is a bad college, no it isn't it indeed is a very good college, and it has provided me with ample of opportunities. It does have a respectable reputation, excellent infrastructure, and well qualified faculty.
However at the same time, you have an 5.5K rank in mains, with that type of rank you have a very good shot at getting CSE in top NITs and IIITs, and honestly VIT pales in comparison to them, even if it is CAT 1 Vellore campus CSE core.
VIT is good but it can be termed better than IIIT Bangalore or MNIT Jaipur( both of which are well within your reach)? Well my answer to that would be a definite NO!
I would go as far as recommending my juniors to get into DAIICT over VIT, the point I am trying to make is simple, and that is if you have under 10K JEE rank, you don't need to consider VIT as an option, in any category or course whatsoever...
To get a better idea on which colleges you can get at that rank you can use following predictor

Do CAT and CMAT syllabus same is there any difference in syllabus
Dear aspirant!!
Hope you are doing well !
Sections in CMAT have an identical syllabus to CAT with an easy to moderate difficulty level as compared to CAT. Thus, do not focus on the CMAT syllabus except for General Awareness. For the Quantitative Ability section, focus on knowing the concepts rather than learning the formulae...Those who are preparing for other MBA entrance exams such as CAT, XAT or SNAP, three months is enough to prepare for CMAT . But those who are aiming to appear only in CMAT exam, must begin their preparation at least three months before the exam.
Hope it helps you !!
Thanking you !
