From the 2026 admissions cycle, the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) will now shift the entrance-exam schedule for several major streams, including MBA/MMS, so that the state-level CETs are held twice a year rather than once. Here are some of the key highlights that mention the major changes for the MAH MBA CET 2026 exam.
The MAH MBA CET two sessions are most likely to be held on April 5 to April 8, 2025 (Exam 1), while the MHA CET (Exam 2) will be conducted on May 9, 2026, tentatively.
All candidates must note that one attempt will be mandatory, and a second attempt will be optional. In case the candidate appears in both, the better (higher) score will be taken for admission/merit.
This model can be compared to the national-level JEE Main model of two sessions per year.
Candidates might be wondering the reason behind this change. Let us look at the following reasons.
Providing more opportunities: By giving two chances a year, students who have an off day (technical glitch, health issue, low score) will get a chance to sit for the second attempt.
Reducing Pressure and Risk: Single-day high-stakes exams cause huge stress; two sessions will spread the risk.
Increasing flexibility for aspirants: This move will help those managing other exams (national, state-level, PG/MBA entrance).
Here are the following points, which will remain unchanged with this move:
MAH CET Syllabus and Exam Pattern: There is no official announcement yet about the major changes to the exam pattern, marking scheme, or structure.
The detailed notification (dates, registration, window, fee, centre list) is yet to be published by the CET Cell.
MAH CET Eligibility Criteria: The basic eligibility criteria will remain as per earlier years until officially unchanged.
