Dr. Venkat: PGPM is an abbreviated form of a two years certification course called Post Graduate Program in Management. IBS Hyderabad offers a Degree & other PGPM which is a certification course.

Madan Gopal: My daughter is currently preparing for CAT. We know it is tough to get into IIMs and if she doesn't get one, how is IBS compared to IIMs? If all campuses are similar then why is there too much gap in the fee structure of IBS Hyderabad and IBS Mumbai?

Dr. Venkat: You cannot compare IBS with IIMs but if like to compare the IBS will stand at 7th or 8th place. IBS Hyderabad has a good track record and every year the packages and placements are up to the mark.

IBS Hyderabad has a very spacious campus with hostel facility in it. It has the best infrastructure. Moreover, the fees of the campus depend much on the living cost of the city. IBS Hyderabad provides MBA which is a degree & IBS Mumbai provide PGPM which is a certification Course.

Madan Gopal: Can she get an MBA degree while studying at Mumbai campus? Is there an option for the same? Is IBS a deemed university? Out of all the 9 campuses you have, which is the best?

Dr. Venkat: Yes, surely she would get her MBA degree. During the tenure of the regular PGPM, your daughter can simultaneously do MBA in distance mode from IU Dehradun (ICFAI Dehradun). PGPM or MBA from IBS has a Brand Value in the Corporate sector and many companies.

IBS is a UGC approved deemed university. All the campuses are good but IBS Hyderabad & IBS Mumbai has better packages to offer to the candidates.

All the streams are equally good here, but package offered to students is a bit high for Marketing & Finance domains.

Jaspreet: I need your help in understanding the admission requirement of your college? What is the cutoff score for IBSAT and NMAT by GMAC?

Dr. Venkat: The following are the required criteria for admission to our college:-

Graduation (any discipline) with 50 percent and above marks with medium of instruction as English. We accept IBSAT/CAT with 60 percentile and above/GMAT with 500 scores and above/NMAT with 150 scores and above. Apart from these, campus selection gets done on the basis of GD-PI score & the 10th,12th & graduation scores.

Vedika: I have scored a total of 49 percent in both 2nd and 3rd year of B.Com, but the total aggregate is 50 percent. Will you consider the cumulative score or only take the Honours scores of 2nd and 3rd year to determine the eligibility criteria for ICFAI?

Dr. Venkat: Regarding the academic score consideration, it depends on your university. If they consider final year marks then even we consider the same. For us, your overall score should be 50 percent in graduation. Then only you are eligible for admission.

Manav: Do I need to pay separately to apply in different campuses?

Dr. Venkat: Manav, you will be required to fill only one IBSAT application for all the 9 campuses.

Uday: Is work experience a mandate in your college?

Dr. Venkat: No, work experience is not mandatory in our college.

Uday:  Do you provide scholarships to students?

Dr. Venkat: Also, we do not provide scholarships to students.
