AISECT University (AU), Bhopal and Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA), Bangalore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) where the institutes have entered a 5 year partnership with an objective of promoting Yoga as an employable skill. The universities also aim to get Yoga included as a formal employable skill under the Ministry of Skill Development.According to Dr Vijay Singh, Registrar, AISECT University, under this partnership, the universities will work together to enhance the quality of their education, training and research offerings in the area of Yoga. AU and S-VYASA have agreed to launch a joint programme of research on Yoga within a year. The institutes also aim to develop skill courses on Yoga, where S-VYASA would plan and develop the curriculum and AU will provide the necessary help and implementation within its framework. These courses will range from a one month certificate to a one year diploma and three years degree programmes.
Prof. V.K. Verma, Vice Chancellor, AISECT University said, "We hope to spread awareness about Yoga in the entire country not just as a practice but as a career option too. S-VYASA is known for their immense efforts to make Yoga a socially relevant Science. Thus, we have partnered with them to boost our common purpose of promoting Yoga as an employable skill among the youth."

programme and will spread all over the country," said Dr H R Nagendra, Chancellor, S-VYASA.
The terms of this MoU also include Yoga training of AISECT University's Faculty at S-VYASA and technical training of S-VYASA Faculty on computer and electronics at AU at discounted fees. AU will also translate courses developed by S-VYASA into Hindi for local students. As part of this collaboration, AU will open a centre at Bhopal with the aim to curb diabetes in the city with the help of S-VYASA.
Both the universities will jointly organize research, publication, symposia and conduct research work using each other's campus as research centre. They have also agreed to exchange of information for education and research purposes as well as exchange of students, staff and interns as per their requirement.
