    About CAT (Common Admission Test)

    CAT (Common Admission Test) is a computer-based MBA entrance exam for admissions into IIMs and various other well-established business schools. Students in lakhs in number register for CAT every year and thus the competition becomes challenging and a bit hard. The exam is conducted for a duration of 120 minutes and the question paper is divided into three sections, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). There are 40 minutes allotted for each section and includes questions of two types- MCQs and non-MCQs. The scorecard of CAT is valid only for one year. CAT 2021 will have a total of 76 questions. For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

    CAT is a very prominent entrance exam which students need to take in order to get admission in prestigious b-schools. It is conducted by IIM-Ahmedabad. The eligibility criteria to appear in the CAT exam are as follows:

    • Qualification - The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with at least 50 per cent marks in the final scorecard. Students in the final year of graduation can also apply. For reserved categories like SC, ST, PWD, and DA, the marks can be 45 per cent.

    • Age limit - There is no age limit for CAT examination.

    I currently meet all the eligibility criteria for an EWS for year 2025-26 but I will start earning in next month...so in CAT I am eligible for EWS and what after next year...will the college ask me for nee certificate if yes will my seat will be rejected...
