CAP IIM List 2025: Common Admission Process (CAP) is a single-window selection process for PGDM/MBA admission to the eight new IIMs. This year, IIM Bodh Gaya is handling CAP 2025. The PI for CAP 2025 is conducted from February 17 to March 22, 2025. IIM CAP 2025 slot booking window was closed on February 3. Candidates can visit the IIM CAP website, cap2025.iimbg.ac.in to know the IIM CAP Percentile required to attend the CAP round. IIM CAP admission results can be expected by May 2025. Recently, IIM Sambalpur and IIM Raipur have opted out of the CAP admission process. The responsibility for conducting the CAP is given to one of the participating IIMs every year on a rotational basis. CAP IIM List 2025: Overview

As per the CAP 2025 notification released by the institute, IIM CAP interviews will be conducted offline in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and some other cities. The IIM CAP process involves shortlisting candidates based on various parameters, including the score of the CAT, WAT/PI, and the final selection is based on academic record and work experience.

The CAP personal interview will be held in two slots. The IIM CAP results for all CAP-participating colleges will be announced in May 2025. Candidates should check their PGDM/MBA admission status on the institute website using their CAT 2024 login credentials.

IIM CAP Admission Process 2025

The IIM CAP 2025 process is explained below. Candidates must have selected IIM campuses while filling out the CAT application form.

  • CAP Institute selects candidates based on pre-defined criteria for CAT score and WAT-PI.
  • The IIM maintains a list of shortlisted candidates through the participating IIMs, and CAP sends emails to the aspirants, mentioning the IIMs that have shortlisted them for WAT-PI.
  • Shortlisted candidates have to fill out the CAP online form to participate in WAT-PI.
  • CAP conducted by IIM sends an email informing the WAT-PI date and venue to the students who have confirmed their participation in the admission round.
  • Candidates participate in the common WAT-PI process.
  • CAP conducting IIM sends the WAT-PI score report to all participating institutes under CAP.
  • Based on the marks obtained, each IIM prepares the final IIM CAP merit list and sends the offer letters to the selected candidates through email.

No, having backlogs does not affect the student from getting admission into IIMs, especially if you have a strong CAT score and meet the minimum eligibility criteria.

VIT-AP (Amaravati) – Category 1 or 2 for most branches including CSE (except CSE specializations might need Cat 2).

VIT-Bhopal – Easily Category 1 for all branches including CSE and its specializations.

Both campuses have relatively lower cutoffs than VIT Vellore or Chennai, so 33,000 rank is considered good for AP or Bhopal campus.

VIT Bhopal – CSE (Cat 1): Lower fees, good for programming, but newer campus and fewer top-tier companies.

VIT Chennai – ECE (Cat 2): Better campus, more industry exposure, but higher fees and slightly lower average packages for ECE.
