HPU MAT 2026: Dates, Eligibility, Application Form, Exam Pattern, Admit Card & Syllabus

• The eligibility criteria of HPU MAT 2026 state that General category candidates with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in Graduation in any stream from a recognised university can apply for the exam. 
• The HPU MAT 2026 eligibility criteria are a little different for reserved categories (SC/ ST). The candidate who belongs to the mentioned categories with a minimum of 45 per cent marks in Graduation is eligible for the exam. 
• The exam has an age limit of 26 years for boys and 28 years for girls. The maximum age for SC/ ST category girls is 29 years.
• The age limit is not applicable for non-subsidized students, defence personnel, and nominees of the State/ Central Government of India. Candidates are advised to check the HPU MAT eligibility criteria before applying for the exam.

The HPU MAT 2026 application form window will likely be open in online mode in the second week of April 2026, for HPU MAT registration 2026. 

To fill out the HPU MAT 2026 application form, candidates are required to have a scanned copy of their passport-size photograph & signature, a scanned copy of the candidate’s parents’ signature, passing certificate(s) and mark sheet (s), and a valid mobile number & email address. 

The HPU MAT 2026 entrance exam is an offline test (paper-and-pencil medium). 

The duration of the HPU MAT exam is two hours and consists of 200 multiple-choice questions divided into four sections: English Comprehension & Language, General Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, General Knowledge & Business Awareness, and Numerical Ability & Data Interpretation. 

Each section has around 50 questions, and each question carries 1 mark. The exam doesn’t have negative markings. Candidates are advised to attempt all the questions. The exam is conducted at multiple centres across Himachal Pradesh, including Mandi, Palampur, Shimla, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, etc.

HPU Business School will issue the admit card for the HPU MAT 2026 exam in online mode in the first week of June 2026. To download the HPU MAT 2026 admit card, candidates have to visit the official website and log in with their HPU MAT registration id and password. 

To appear for the exam, candidates must carry the HPU MAT admit card 2026 to the exam centre. No candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam without the admit card. Keep a copy of the admit card until the completion of the admission process, as it’s required at every stage. 

HPU MAT 2026 results will likely be declared in the third week of June 2026, in online mode, after the HPU MAT exam. The test-takers can easily check and download it from the official website. The HPU MAT 2026 results display the overall score of the candidates. Qualified candidates will be called for the selection rounds – Group Discussion and Personal Interviews.

The HPU MAT cutoff 2026 will be released after the declaration of the HPU MAT 2026 result. It’s the minimum mark a candidate needs to score to get shortlisted for the admission process. HPU Business releases the cutoff for all categories, including General, SC, ST, and Subsidised & Non-Subsidised seats. 

The candidates who meet the HPU MAT 2026 cutoff criterion enter the selection process that includes GD and PI. Overall performance in the exam and the selection rounds leads to final admission. 

The cutoff of HPU MAT 2026 depends on various factors such as the total number of candidates appearing for the exam, the number of candidates qualifying for the entrance exam, the difficulty level of the question paper, and the total number of seats available.  

HPU MAT 2026 Cutoff (Subsidized and Non-Subsidized Seats)

The selection process for HPU MAT 2026 will take place after the results and cutoff are announced. Based on the cutoff, candidates will be shortlisted in the first stage. The HPU MAT 2026 selection process consists of Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). Then, the shortlisted candidates will appear for GD and PI.

• GD and PI are an integral part of the HPU MAT 2026 selection process at HPU Business School. Only the shortlisted candidates appear for these rounds.
• The institute gives certain weightage to these rounds in the final merit list. Candidates need to perform well in the HPU MAT, GD, and PI processes to get the admission offer. 
• Candidates have to submit their academic and professional documents, and the supporting documentation that they have been shortlisted for at the time of GD and PI.
