Panjab University, Chandigarh conducts Panjab University Management Entrance Test, popular as PU MET for granting admission to students aspiring to pursue MBA programmes at University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS). PU MET 2020 will be an offline test (pen and paper mode) of two hours consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The total number of seats offered by Panjab University is 200 for its postgraduate management programme through PU MET 2020. MBA aspirants with a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised institute or university are eligible to appear for PU MET 2020.

Panjab University prescribes the eligibility criteria of PU MET 2020 which would be different for various management programmes at the university. However, the PU MET 2020 eligibility criteria remain the same and are stated below-

Panjab University has released the online PU MET 2020 application form on January 14, 2020. There is one common form for all the management programmes offered at UIAMS and applicants need to fill a single form for all courses. Prior to filling the application form of PU MET 2020, candidates should check the eligibility criteria to avoid cancellation of candidature. After completing the PU MET registration 2020 in online mode, prospective test-takers need to submit the copy of printout of their filled application form along with the required documents (if any) to Assistant Registrar, UIAMS, South Campus, Sector - 25, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014 by registered post/speed post or by hand on the stipulated date/s as mentioned by Panjab University.
PU MET applicants will be allowed to correct their photograph, signature and any other information (for completed forms only) if required until April 9, 2020, upto 5:00 pm.
Application Fee: Aspiring test takers belonging to General category need to pay Rs. 2175 as PU MET registration/application fee 2020, however, the SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates will pay Rs.1087 in the State Bank of India using website generated challan. The examination fee once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances. If after 24 Hrs. of printing the fee slip, the required details are not found in the bank for depositing application fee of PU MET 2020, applicants need to write to email@example.com mentioning their problem along with Application number, Full Name and Date of Birth.
Panjab University formulates the PU MET exam pattern. According to the exam pattern of PU MET 2020, the offline exam will be of two hours duration consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions having four options A, B, C & D. The exam will be conducted on March 28, 2020, and candidates need to answer in OMR sheet.
The sections of the PU MET exam will include:
Scheme of Scoring – According to the exam pattern of PU MET 2020, the primary marking component of the exam is negative marking; 1/4th of the total marks allotted to a particular question will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 1 mark would be awarded for every correct answer. PU MET scores will carry 85 per cent weightage pertaining to the selection of candidates.
Panjab University will release the PU MET 2020 admit card in online mode on April 25, 2020. The registered candidates need to download the PU MET 2020 admit card using their web-account credentials (Login ID and Password). Test takers are advised to keep their admit cards of PU MET 2020 safe until the admission process draws a conclusion and also produce the same on the exam day.
Panjab University will release the PUMET 2020 answer key 7-10 days after the test date. The answer key will comprise of the questions and their respective correct answer options and will be made available on the University website. For any discrepancy pertaining to answers, the test takers can file their objections in writing, within 48 hours of PU MET 2020 answer key announcement.
To verify their final result (PU MET score, GI and PI scores), one will need to provide a photocopy of his/her answer sheet on payment of Rs. 10,000. This process has to be completed within 10 days after the declaration of the final result (after the completion of group discussion and personal interview). If the objection is found to be correct, it will get rectified on immediate effect.
The Panjab University will announce the result of PU MET 2020 tentatively on June 10, 2020. The PU MET 2020 result will be made available in online mode only. For checking result, test takers will need to enter their login credentials, precisely ID and Password created during the registration.
Panjab University will not prescribe any PU MET 2020 cutoff for choosing candidates. Although the test takers who will appear for the exam will need to secure a valid score, there is no concept of considering PUMET cutoff 2020. The cutoff will be decided by the participating institutes that will accept PUMET 2020 scores for the admission process. Aspirants need to contact the respective college(s) to get the cutoff scores.
Panjab University formulates the norms of PU MET 2020 selection process. The procedure begins with PUMET exam. Only the qualified test takers will be called for further PU MET 2020 selection process, namely Group Discussion and Personal Interview around the month of May 2020. Final admission to management programmes will be based on the cumulative marks in all the three (PU MET, GD and PI). The University renders the following weightage to each of the admission components.

Post GD and PI rounds, the final list of shortlisted candidates will be prepared for the counselling procedure to be scheduled in the month of June 2020, tentatively.
For NRI candidates- NRI candidates are eligible to appear for PU MET exam. If they are not in India at the time of exam but has filled the application form of PU MET 2020, can submit a valid score of GMAT which will be treated at par with the combined marks of Written Test (MET-2020) conducted by Panjab University and Group Discussion & Personal Interview conducted by University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
