Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh will conduct the PU MET Exam 2024 on April 28, 2024. The admit card for the same has been issued on April 23, 2024, in online mode. Candidates can download their PU MET admit card 2024 at met.puchd.ac.in by entering their login ID and password. The PU MET Exam 2024 will be held only in Chandigarh. Earlier, the registration process for the PU MET 2024 was closed on April 3, 2024. The fee payment window for PUMET 2024 was closed on April 10, 2024. The last date to upload the required document is April 16, 2024.
What is PU MET Exam?
PU MET is a university-level entrance examination for admission to the MBA program at Panjab University. PU MET is an objective-type test consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions. There are 200 MBA seats that will be filled through the PU MET entrance exam. Panjab University offers MBA courses with various specialisations in Retail Management. Banking, Pharmaceutical Management, etc.
The questions asked as per the exam pattern of PU MET 2024 are multiple-choice based on sections namely: Data Interpretation and Problem Solving, Numerical Ability, Verbal Ability/Reasoning, English Comprehension, General Knowledge and Economics, and Business Environment Awareness. The duration of the PU MET exam is 120 minutes and the exam centre is in Chandigarh only.

Panjab University issued the PU MET 2024 admit card on April 23 in online mode. The registered candidates can download the PU MET 2024 admit card using their web-account credentials (Login ID and Password). Test takers are advised to keep their admit cards of PU MET 2024 safe until the admission process draws a conclusion and also produce the same on exam day.
Panjab University prescribes the eligibility criteria for PU MET 2024, which are different for various management programmes at the university. However, the PU MET 2024 eligibility criteria remain the same and are stated below:
Panjab University, Chandigarh, invites applications for PU MET in online mode, within the deadline. Applications should be sent along with the exam fees to apply successfully. Candidates can pay the fee through the State Bank of India (SBI) using a website-generated challan in online mode.
After completing the PU MET registration 2024 in online mode, prospective test-takers need to submit a hard copy of the filled-out application form along with the required documents (if any) by registered post, speed post, or by hand to the following address:

Candidates are advised to fill out all the details carefully and lock the section. Once they lock a section, they will not be allowed to change information in that section.
Application Fee:
Aspiring test-takers belonging to the General category need to pay Rs. 2,395 as the PU MET registration/ application fee 2024, however, the SC/ ST/ Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates will have to pay Rs. 1,198 at the State Bank of India using a website-generated challan.
The examination fee once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances. If, after 24 hours of printing the fee slip, the required details are not found in the bank for depositing the application fee for PU MET 2024, applicants need to write to met@pu.ac.in mentioning their problem along with Application number, Full Name, and Date of Birth.
There is one common form for all the management programmes offered at UIAMS and applicants need to fill out a single form for all courses. Prior to filing the application form for PU MET 2024, candidates should check the eligibility criteria to avoid the cancellation of their candidature.

Panjab University formulates the PU MET exam pattern. According to the exam pattern for PU MET 2024, the offline entrance exam will be of two hours duration and will have 200 multiple-choice questions with four options: A, B, C & D. The exam will be conducted at the university campus in Chandigarh.
The sections of the PU MET exam include:
Scheme of Scoring – According to the exam pattern of PU MET 2024, the primary marking component of the exam is negative marking; 1/4th of the total marks allotted to a particular question will be deducted for every incorrect answer. 1 mark would be awarded for every correct answer. PU MET scores will carry 85 per cent weightage pertaining to the selection of candidates.
Panjab University will release the PUMET 2024 answer key after the conclusion of the exam. The answer key will include all the details, like the questions and their respective correct answer options. For any discrepancy pertaining to answers, the test takers can file their objections in three ways: either by filling out the form or sending emails or information to the exam authorities on their phone number.
Candidates can challenge the answer key by paying the objection fee. This process have to be completed within 10 days after the declaration of the final result (after the completion of group discussion and personal interview). If the objection is found to be correct, it will be rectified with immediate effect.
The Panjab University will announce the PU MET result 2024 after the GD/PI. Candidates who appeared in the entrance exam can expect a PU MET result in the last week of May 2024. The PU MET result will be in the form of a merit list and can be downloaded from the official website using the login credentials.
Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh will release, instead of cutoff, the final merit list of candidates shortlisted for admission. Admission for PU MBA course will be made on the basis of merit determined by scores obtained by the candidates in PU MET entrance exam and Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
All candidates regardless of reserved categories and NRI category will, first of all, be considered in General category. But they will compete within their respective categories following the same criteria. Reservation to the reserved category candidates will be given as per the approved norms of Panjab University.
Panjab University formulates the norms of the PU MET 2024 selection process. The procedure begins with the PUMET exam. Only the qualified test-takers will be called for the further PU MET 2024 selection process, namely Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Final admission to management programmes will be based on the cumulative marks in all three (PU MET, GD, and PI). The University renders the following weightage to each of the admission components:

Post GD and PI rounds, provisional merit list of shortlisted candidates will be prepared for counselling.
For NRI candidates- NRI candidates are eligible to appear for the PU MET exam. If they are not in India at the time of exam but has filled the application form of PU MET 2024, can submit a valid score of GMAT which will be treated at par with the combined marks of the Written Test (MET-2024) conducted by Panjab University and Group Discussion & Personal Interview conducted by University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

PU MET exam syllabus comprises of topics like English comprehension, verbal ability, numerical ability, data interpretation, general knowledge, economics and business environment awareness.
The PU MET result 2024 was released in May 2024.
Candidates who qualified in the PU MET exam will be shortlisted for group discussion and interview rounds. The final MBA admission is offered based only on the cumulative marks achieved by the candidates in all the selection rounds.
