About PU MET 2025

Panjab University, Chandigarh, will conduct the PU MET exam 2025 on April 27, 2025. The registration process for the PU MET 2025 began on January 22, and it will be closed on April 12, 2025. Candidates who are seeking MBA admission at Panjab University can apply for the PUMET exam 2025 online at met.puchd.ac.in. The PU MET 2025 entrance exam will be held only in Chandigarh centre. The fee payment window for PUMET 2025 will be closed on April 15. The last date to upload the required document is April 16, 2025. To apply for PU MET 2025, general candidates have to pay Rs 2710 and SC/ST/PwD candidates have to pay Rs 1355 as registration fee.

What is the PU MET Exam?

PU MET is a university-level entrance examination for admission to the MBA program at Panjab University. The PU MET is an objective-type test consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions. There are 307 MBA seats that will be filled through the PU MET entrance exam. Panjab University offers MBA courses with various specialisations in--

The components of the PU MET will include: (i) General Knowledge; (ii) Economics and Business Environment Awareness; (iii) Data interpretation and problem solving; (iv) Numerical Ability; (v) Verbal Ability/ Reasoning; and (vi) English Comprehension.

Panjab University, Chandigarh, invites applications for PU MET 2025 in online mode. Candidates can fill out the PU MET exam 2025 application form by April 12, 2025. The fee payment window will be closed on April 15, and the last date to upload the document is April 16. Candidates can print a copy of the filled-out PU MET application form by April 25, 2025.

After completing the PU MET registration 2025 in online mode, prospective test-takers need to submit a hard copy of the filled-out application form along with the required documents (if any) by registered post, speed post, or by hand to the following address:

The examination fee, once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances. If, after 24 hours of printing the fee slip, the required details are not found in the bank for depositing the application fee for PU MET 2025, applicants need to write to met@pu.ac.in mentioning their problem along with their application number, full name, and date of birth.

There is one common form for all the management programmes offered at UIAMS, and applicants need to fill out a single form for all courses. Prior to filing the application form for PU MET 2025, candidates should check the eligibility criteria to avoid the cancellation of their candidature.

Panjab University prescribes the eligibility criteria for PU MET 2025, which are different for various management programmes at the university. However, the PU MET 2025 eligibility criteria remain the same and are stated below:

  • Candidates must obtain a Bachelor’s or Master's degree with at least a 50% aggregate score (45% for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates) in any discipline from a recognised university.
  • The final-year degree candidates are eligible to apply and can take the written test provisionally as well, but the result of the qualifying examination should be submitted later, as and when required.
  • Age Limit: No mention of age has been made in the official prospectus of PU MET 2025 regarding eligibility criteria.

Panjab University formulates the PU MET 2025 exam pattern. According to the exam pattern for PU MET 2025, the offline entrance exam will be of 2-hour duration and will have 200 multiple-choice questions with four options: A, B, C & D. The exam will be conducted at the university campus in Chandigarh.

PU MET 2025 Syllabus

PU MET Panjab University Management Entrance Test Syllabus

Panjab University will release the PU MET 2025 admit card on April 22, in online mode at met.puchd.ac.in. The registered candidates can download the PU MET 2025 admit card using their web-account credentials (login ID and password). Test takers are advised to keep their admit cards for PU MET 2025 safe until the admission process draws a conclusion and also produce the same on exam day.

To download the admit card, the candidate must follow the given steps:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of the university.
  • Step 2: Sign in using the credentials. 
  • Step 3: PU MET admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Step 4: Download it on your PC.
  • Step 5: Get a hard copy of the admit card.

Panjab University will release the PUMET 2025 answer key after the conclusion of the exam. The answer key will include all the details, like the questions and their respective correct answer options. For any discrepancy pertaining to answers, the test takers can file their objections in three ways: either by filling out the form or sending emails or information to the exam authorities on their phone number.

Candidates can challenge the PU MET 2025 answer key by paying the objection fee. This process has to be completed within 10 days after the declaration of the final result (after the completion of group discussion and personal interview). If the objection is found to be correct, it will be rectified with immediate effect.

The Panjab University will announce the PU MET result 2025 after the GD/PI. Candidates who appeared in the entrance exam can expect a PU MET result in the last week of May 2025. The PU MET result will be in the form of a merit list and can be downloaded from the official website using the login credentials.

NOTE: The result of the PU MET Entrance Test will not be sent to the candidates.

Steps to Check the PU-MET Result 2025

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of PU.
  • Step 2: Click on the result link.
  • Step 3: Type in ID and password.
  • Step 4: PU MET result will appear on the screen.
  • Step 5: Review the information given on the result and download it.
  • Step 6: Print the PU MET result for future use.

Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh will release the final merit list of candidates shortlisted for admission instead of the PU MET cutoff. Admission for the PU MBA course will be made on the basis of merit determined by scores obtained by the candidates in the PU MET entrance exam, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). 

All candidates, regardless of reserved categories and NRI categories, will, first of all, be considered in the general category. But they will compete within their respective categories, following the same criteria. Reservations to the reserved category candidates will be given as per the approved norms of Panjab University.

Panjab University formulates the norms of the PU MET 2025 selection process. The procedure begins with the PUMET exam. Only the qualified test-takers will be called for the further PU MET 2025 selection process, namely Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Final admission to management programmes will be based on the cumulative marks in all three (PU MET, GD, and PI). The university assigns the following weightage to each of the admission components:

For NRI Candidates: NRI candidates are eligible to appear for the PU MET exam. If they are not in India at the time of the exam but have filled out the application form for PU MET 2025, they can submit a valid score of GMAT, which will be treated at par with the combined marks of the Written Test (MET-2025) conducted by Panjab University and Group Discussion & Personal Interview conducted by University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Candidates who appear for the exam need to obtain a valid score though there is no exam cutoff, as per last year pattern. The PU MET cutoff is college-based which means that each of the participating institutes of PU MET will have their individual cutoffs for their respective admission process.
