CMAT Exam Analysis: Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation

Answering 16-17 questions with 80% accuracy can get you a good score in the quantitative and data interpretation section of the CMAT exam. Only 3 questions were asked from the data interpretation and rest of the 17 questions asked from the quantitative side.

CMAT Exam Analysis: Logical and Verbal Reasoning

Out of 20 questions, 14 were asked from the non-verbal reasoning and 6 from the verbal reasoning. All the questions asked in the logical and verbal reasoning sections are stand alone questions. The 16-17 good attempts with 80% accuracy is a good attempt to score marks in this section. The questions on Verbal Reasoning included questions such as assertion-reason, analogy, odd one, strong/weak arguments, Syllogisms etc. The verbal reasoning questions were not lengthy and very easy to solve.

CMAT Exam Analysis: Language Comprehension

Two questions were only asked in the reading comprehension section, as in CMAT exam shift 1, and the rest of the questions were asked in the non-RC section. Most of the LC questions were easy to solve. 16-17 attempts with 80% accuracy would be a good one.

As per the exam analysis of CMAT by Career Launcher, an attempt of 19-23 questions in the Quantitative section is a good attempt. There was a total of 8 questions from the verbal reasoning section out of the total 25 questions. The questions were fairly easy and direct. There were 16 math-based reasoning questions. There was a set on blood relations consisting of 4 questions. Questions appeared from areas like Code decoding, Venn diagram, Rank, Analogy, number series, and direction.

The RC questions were mainly fact-based and the passage was easy to comprehend. Furthermore, the replacement of underlined para and sentence completion questions tested the basic grammar knowledge of the candidate. There was one error correction asked. Overall, all the questions could have been attempted in the time period of 35 to 45 minutes. The broad topics covered in Static GK were Indian Polity, Business & Economics, and International Affairs.

CMAT Analysis 2021: Details by IMS

CMAT 2021 added a new section to the test making it a three-and-a-half-hour test from the earlier three-hour test. The new section, "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" was optional and carried 25 questions with 100 marks. The students who opted for the additional section received 30 minutes of extra time. They would complete the exam by 12:30 PM (Shift 1) and 6:30 PM (Shift 2).

• For every correct answer, four marks will be awarded
• For every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted

• If more than one option is found correct, in that case:

Section 3 - Language Comprehension Analysis

• This section will cover all the questions from the Verbal Ability and Reading comprehension passages.
• Reading comprehension will cover a total of 6 questions and the rest will be from verbal ability.
• Verbal Ability questions cover the areas like - para jumble, idiom/ phrase, antonym, and synonym, identifying correct sentence, FIJ (fact, inference, and judgment), word analogy, identifying part with error, fill in the blanks, etc.

• This section consists of questions from both: current affairs and Static GK.
• General awareness is thought to be the most difficult section.
