A 100% MBA placement may not mean a better MBA salary outcome. We picked 50 non-IIMs where zero students opted for higher studies and analysed their latest data submitted for the NIRF 2026 rankings to understand their standing in India as alternatives to the IIMs. 29 MBA colleges out of these 50 reported a 100% placement percentage and median salary ranging between Rs. 3 LPA to Rs. 28 LPA. SPJIMR, meanwhile, had a 98% placement percentage but the highest median salary at Rs. 30 LPA, among these 50 MBA colleges. With placement percentages ranging from 95% to 100%, and with no students opting for higher studies factored in, let’s look at how these non-IIM MBA colleges fared last year when compared on placement percentage and salary - How many students were they able to place, and at what salary?

"100% Placement" - once the go-to marketing line for colleges - has quietly died on paper, at least for some. You'll rarely see college brochures or ads shouting this number out loud anymore. That's because the way colleges arrive at "100% placement" has changed: many now balance the number by factoring in students who opted for higher studies, leaving unplaced students out of the calculation altogether and effectively rounding the placement percentage up to 100%. Even the big IIMs do this, since placement percentage still plays a make-or-break role for MBA aspirants choosing a college.

The data says that a college with a 100% placement may have a lower median salary than another institute with a slightly lower placement percentage and a higher salary. Therefore, other factors should also be considered while picking colleges. Other aspects to evaluate a college apart from the placement percentage-

Have a question related to MBA ?

    Hello Dear Student,
Yes, you can pursue an MBA at age 35 with 3 years of experience, but a traditional 2-year full-time program may pose placement challenges. Instead, look into Executive MBAs (EMBA), one-year full-time programs (like at ISB), or online/part-time MBAs which actively welcome your maturity and life perspective.

    Hello,

At present, MBA + LLM integrated programmes are very rare in India, and there are no well-known universities in Andhra Pradesh offering this combination as a regular integrated course.

    A common pathway is:

    Complete LLB (3-year or 5-year).

Pursue LLM and MBA separately, either one after the other or
