CMAT Selection Procedure 2021 - All India Council for Technical Education or AICTE approved institutes will conduct the selection procedure of CMAT 2021 after the declaration of result/merit list. AICTE institutes are the institutes which accept CMAT scores on the basis of which students are shortlisted for the selection procedure of CMAT 2021. The participating institutes will conduct CMAT 2021 selection procedure tentatively in February-March 2021. CMAT is a national level entrance examination conducted for admission to MBA programs of participating institutes. CMAT selection procedure 2021 will consist of mainly three rounds of Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview. CMAT 2021 selection procedure may vary from institute to institute. CMAT Selection Procedure 2021
AICTE approved institutes will begin the selection procedure of CMAT 2021 after the declaration of result. CMAT 2021 selection procedure will be conducted in three phases as mentioned below:
Release of CMAT Score / Merit List
Written Ability Test or Personal Interview
Release of CMAT Score/Merit List
National Testing Agency will release the CMAT scorecard 2021 tentatively in the first week of February 2021 based on which candidates will be shortlisted for the selection rounds. Each participating institute of CMAT 2021 will release its individual list of shortlisted candidates. Students who will be shortlisted will have to appear for the selection process on the prescribed date, day and venue.
Institutes accepting CMAT scores will conduct the first round of group discussion. This round is supposed to be held in the following manner:
Firstly the shortlisted candidates will be given a topic for discussion which will be based on current affairs or business situations.
Then, the students will be grouped into 10 or more students and will be assigned an individual group topic.
As the group discussion will begin, students will be marked on the basis of following parameters:
Creative and logical thinking
Personal Interview/ Written Ability Test
Students qualifying the group discussion will be further called for either personal interview or written ability test or both.
In the personal interview round, students will have to appear physically in front of the interviewee for face to face interaction.
During the interview process, student will be assess based on the following parameters:
Ability to explain past academic records
Prior work experience(s)
Creativity and innovation
Candidates appearing for a personal interview must surely prepare themselves with the questions like “What are your strengths and weaknesses” and “self-introduction”.
The interviewee may assess a student's capability to take in pressure and managerial skills by asking interlinked questions. Candidate must justify its statements and answer smartly.
In addition to personal interview, some institutes might conduct written ability test (WAT). In this round students will be given a topic to present their opinion on. Through this round, the authorities will analyze the candidate’s writing skills. To sail through these rounds, students are advised to read the newspaper on a daily basis.
CMAT Selection Procedure 2021 - Final Merit List
On the basis of candidate’s cumulative performance, final merit list will be prepared by the participating institutes of CMAT 2021. The final list will include the name of the candidates who will have cleared all the criteria of selection rounds. Some institutes will notify the student’s status through email or call letter.

CMAT scores are accepted by more than 100 B-schools. Students are advised to keep themselves updated with the admission dates by visiting the official website of the institute they desire to take admission in. CMAT is an Entrance examination for admission to Management Courses at Post Graduation level. So you should have completed your Bachelo'r degree in any discipline for being eligible for CMAT. Candidates should have secured a minimum aggregate of 50% in any Graduation of any discipline. It is 50% for General Category and 45% for Reserved Categories. Or else, even final year Graduates can apply. So if your Bachelor's degree is a 3 year degree, then you can appear for CMAT in the 3rd year. But if your Bachelor's degree is a 4 year course, you can apply for CMAT during the 4th year. CMAT is an entrance examination for 3 courses i.e. Exceutive PGDM, PGDM, MBA and PGDM. CAT and CMAT entrance exams are national level entrance exams to get admission in Management courses in postgraduate level. The participating institutes of CAT are 20 IIMs, IITs, JBIMS, MDI, SPJIMR, IMI, FMS and more than 500 colleges accept CAT score across the country. CMAT score is accepted by all the institutes which are AICTE-Approved. Admission process, cut off will be different for each entrance exam. And KMAT is a state level entrance exam for admission to MBA and PGDM in colleges of Karnataka. Depending on your preferences of course, institute, financial assistance you can opt any of the entrance exam. CAT is not necessary to appear in CMAT, KMAT etc.
