CMAT Selection Procedure 2019 – NTA (National Testing Agency) successfully conducted both the shifts (First and Second) of CMAT 2019 on January 28, 2019. According to the candidates, the exam was very easy as compared to CAT, XAT, IIFT exams. Most of them solved around 75 - 90 percent questions much ahead of time. CMAT Selection Procedure 2019: Process of Selection
As the CMAT 2019 result has been announced, each institute has the discretion to decide its own cutoff based on which candidates would be called for further selection rounds. The CMAT 2019 selection procedure is hosted after the merit list is released and the institutes roll out their respective cutoff marks for the management programmes. The CMAT selection procedure 2019 will comprise mainly of two or three rounds mentioned below:
Group Discussion (GD)
Candidates who make it into the merit list of each participating institute will be further called in for the GD round.
Personal Interview (PI) or Written Ability Test (WAT)
Post Group Discussion, candidates will be shortlisted for the PI or WAT round.
Final selection will be based on the collated scores of GD and PI/WAT rounds. Each institute will release the final list of the selected students for admission to MBA and PGDM programmes.
The final list will be released and notified to each candidate either on the registered email address/ contact details or directly on the website. The selection procedure will begin after each participating institute releases their list of shortlisted candidates based on the CMAT 2019 scores. The final merit list of CMAT 2019 will be based on the overall performance of the candidate in each of the above rounds and past academic records. The CMAT selection procedure 2019 is mainly for those who want to pursue management based courses across the sub-continent.
CMAT 2019 Selection Procedure: What are GD, PI and WAT Rounds?
Groups are formed of 7-10 candidates. Each group is given a topic; all topics are diverse in nature and include current affairs in the field of politics, economics, sports or socially relevant subjects.
Applicants are judged on their personal skills including – communication, leadership, negotiation, managerial and leadership skills.
Writing Ability Test:
The CMAT 2019 selection procedure in some colleges also have a WAT round where candidates are given a topic to write on current affairs.
Here, candidates are judged on their clarity of thought, fluency in writing, and grammar skills.
A panel of 3-4 senior individuals interview the candidates individually. This round is conducted essentially to understand the candidates’ attitude, interest level and their future aspirations.
Panel checks the communication skills and past academic performance of the candidate and his/her fitment into the institute.
CMAT 2019 was conducted on Monday, January 28, 2019, in computer-based mode. As per the CMAT exam pattern 2019, the national level management entrance exam comprises of four sections, namely, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation and General Awareness. The total duration of CMAT 2019 was three-hours. As per the marking scheme of CMAT, each correct answer will benefit four (+4) marks while each incorrect response will suffer a penalty of one (-1) mark.
