The CL OPEN CDC is a series of CAT 2026 mock tests conducted by Career Launcher in designated test centres for students who want to experience the CAT exam environment. The OPEN CDC follows the same procedure as the CAT exam, such as releasing the CAT admit card, ID verification, choosing a test slot, providing rough sheets during the exam, and, most importantly, a computer-based test for the CAT 2026 mock test.
Moreover, MBA aspirants will be provided with post-mock test analysis, ranking, and performance relative to other fellow candidates who appeared for the CL OPEN CDC 2026. In addition to this, the OPEN CDC is available not just as a test-centre-based exam, but also as a home-based test as per the preference and eligibility of the candidate.
The primary difference between a regular mock and a test-centre mock is the setting of the test that is attempted. OPEN CDC is proctored, and candidates will take the test at their designated testing time.
The mock is timed in sections following CAT. Career Launcher's information states that candidates are not able to submit a part of the section until the 40-minute time limit has been reached. This is done to simulate the real format of a CAT.
For candidates in preparation, this experience can assist them in identifying the practical problems which may not be encountered in the home-based practice test, for example, time management, dealing with test-centre procedures and concentration during the test.
The OPEN CDC 3 program offers candidates several types of feedback following the test. These include:
Each question is followed by a video answer. There are video answers to questions.
Live analysis sessions
Live video attempts
GP ka Jugaad
Predicted CAT 2026 percentile
Scorecard
Percentile/rank analysis
All India benchmarking
Check-marked answers and solutions in the window
These features are designed to assist the candidate to go beyond his or her raw score. It is more beneficial when students can know what questions they attempted, what questions they skipped, their accuracy, and how they compare with other aspirants when they have a mock test.
The cost of OPEN CDC 3 will depend on the candidate's affiliation with Career Launcher and whether the mock is done at home or at a test centre. Moreover, the CL OPEN CDC 3 registration fee will vary based on the date of the registration. Candidates can check the table below for more information.
Student Category | Till 31st Aug 2026 | From 1st Sept 2026 |
OC / NC / Classroom (CR) | Free | Free |
Test Series (TS) / VARC1000 / DILR1000 / QAI1000 | ₹99 + GST | ₹149 + GST |
New Students | ₹149 + GST | ₹199 + GST |
The amount of fees will differ depending on the student's category, chosen mode, and the programme benefits available to him/her. All references to GST are subject to that.
For the above 4-OPEN CDCs combination, Career Launcher mentions that the four combinations of home/test-centre are available at Rs. 349 for eligible CL beacon course students and at Rs. 449 for other CAT aspirants, and free for CL Classroom/Online/Night Classes/Test Series students, and the terms mentioned on the official page apply.
The Career Launcher’s CAT 2026 mock test open CDC series will be useful for candidates who:
Desire to know the experiences of a test centre before CAT 2026.
Have primarily been taking mocks from home.
Desire to evaluate themselves with a wider competition of CAT aspirants.
Looking for a percentile and All India benchmarking
Desire to find out time management and choice-making issues in exam-like situations.
Want to become familiar with the steps in a computer-based exam.
The candidates need to note, however, that one Mock Test will not be a perfect indicator of their final percentile in CAT. Mock performance may vary based on the difficulty level, preparation level, and test-taking strategy.
When preparing for CATs, it is not enough to get the questions right. Candidates must also make choices as to which questions to work on, how much time to dedicate to a challenging problem, and when to leave.
A test-centre mock can thus offer a different preparation experience. Candidates are given a chance to try out their strategy in a more controlled and less familiar environment than in the comfort of their familiar study environment.
The post-test analysis can also enable candidates to look at their performance in more depth. For instance, if a student sees that he has not gotten the question right because of low conceptual knowledge, he may find that he has been spending too much time on a particular set or trying the question with low accuracy.
