Careers360 - What was your SNAP 2020 overall percentile? Apart from SNAP, which other entrance exams you appeared for and what were your scores?
Anshul Chaudhary - My SNAP 2020 overall percentile is 99.6178. Apart from snap I’ve appeared for CAT 2020 and scored 96.73 percentile.
Careers360 - What was your preparation strategy? Please share the section-wise strategy in detail.
Anshul Chaudhary - I ‘ve already prepared for CAT 2020 and the syllabus is almost the same for SNAP. But I’ve realized SNAP is more about studying a wide variety of topics with basic difficulty.
For Verbal – I just covered basic vocabulary and grammar topics.
For Logical Reasoning – in this section the question comes from a wide variety of topics and I feel it is a bit difficult compared to the other two.
For Quant – I already prepared for CAT so I didn’t need to put much effort in this section.
Careers360 - With the change in SNAP 2020 exam pattern did it affect your preparation strategy? Do you think it was appropriate to remove the General Knowledge section?
Anshul Chaudhary - No, not really I’ve prepared the same way as before. Yes, I think it is a good idea to remove the GK section from the exam as the general knowledge of a candidate can be judged during the interviews.
Careers360 - How did you prepare - Self-study or Coaching? If you took coaching then from where? Please explain which one is better- self-study or coaching?
Anshul Chaudhary - I’ve joined the online coaching platform Iquanta by Indrajeet sir. It is more a personal decision whether to join coaching or not . I’ve joined coaching because I need regularity in my preparation which is difficult to maintain otherwise also Iquanta has a great peer group which proved beneficial for my journey of mba exams.
Careers360 - When did you start preparing for SNAP? Please share in detail your month-wise preparation strategy for SNAP.
Anshul Chaudhary - I specifically prepared for SNAP2020 after I’ve done with my CAT exam .My strategy is to cover the basics of all the topics and also give about 10 mocks and analyse them properly.
Careers360 - Are you working? If yes then how did you balance your preparation with a job? Please share your timetable.
Anshul Chaudhary - Yes, I work in a MNC.i try to give more time during weekends and on weekdays I try to give 2-3 hours daily.
Careers360 - According to you, what is the most important aspect of preparation?
Anshul Chaudhary - The most important aspect is to maintain consistency and stay motivated throughout the journey. Also I try to give lots of mocks and analyse it which I think is the most important aspect to prepare for any exam.
Careers360 - What are the best study materials for SNAP or other exams? Please name some study materials you had referred to during preparation which includes the names of books which you consulted for each section.
Anshul Chaudhary - I mostly prepare from the iquanta material and refer Arun sharma books for all 3 sections.
Careers360 - How does one with non-English background prepare him/herself for the exam as the mode of the exam is only English?
Anshul Chaudhary - In the SNAP exam the level of English Is not that high so I suggest they cover only basic vocabulary and grammar to ace the verbal section.

Careers360 - What was your exam day strategy in terms of question selection, time management, accuracy and sectional attempts/cutoffs?
Anshul Chaudhary - My strategy is to maximize my attempt, so I started with the verbal section in the quants and reasoning section. I picked the easy ones first and then attempted the difficult ones. I’ve attempted 55 questions, got 49 right and 6 wrong.
Careers360 - How do you suggest one should keep his/her calm and confidence during the long and tiring preparation process for a management entrance exam?
Anshul Chaudhary - Always remember the reason why you have started this journey, I know it is difficult to stay calm during the whole journey, sometimes frustration builds up due to low performance. Most of the students got disheartened due to low mock scores and my suggestion to those students is that don’t take mocks scores so seriously just analyze them and move forward . If you stay patient during your journey at the ends all the dots will connect, and you will surely get a good result.
Careers360 - What is your take on the Changed exam pattern and reduced number of questions?
Anshul Chaudhary - I can only say that it worked for me , but I think it is enough to judge a candidate's caliber . SNAP has become more of a speed based test but the quality of questions is still good.
Careers360 - Do you think it is a good idea to have three attempts in the near future also?
Anshul Chaudhary - Yes, I think it is a good step from symbiosis as it gives the opportunity to give 2 attempts , which is good because if someone does well in one attempt he always has a chance to do better in the next one and improve his mistakes.
Careers360 - How were the arrangements at the test centre for COVID 19?
Anshul Chaudhary - I think the arrangements were pretty good. There is proper social distancing at the test center and they have followed all the necessary precautions.
Careers360 - What is your message for future SNAP aspirants?
Anshul Chaudhary - I just want to say that hard work and perseverance are the two things you should have in order to get good results. This is just a test even if you fail, never get disappointed and try harder. Next you surely will get a better result.
