CAT 2014 Cutoff: As soon as the Common Admission Test (CAT) result was declared on Saturday, December 24, 2014, the candidates’ first query was on CAT 2014 Cutoff. CAT 2014 is a computer based test held over a window of 2 days and 4 slots per day on Sunday, November 16, 2014 and Saturday, November 22, 2014. The official announcement aboput the exam was made on Sunday, July 27, 2014. The test day window this year decreased from 20 days and 2 slots to 2 days and 4 slots. And the exam pattern also changed.
CAT 2014 exam had 100 multiple choice objective type questions from 2 sections, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. Each section consisted of 50 questions. For every correct answer, 3 marks was awarded and for each wrong answer, 1 mark was deducted. 0 marks was awarded or deducted for not attempting a question. Unlike past years, the sections was not time bound and the candidates had the liberty to switch between the sections as well.
CAT 2014 was successfully conducted by IIM Indore, the same IIM which conducted CAT last year. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was the computer based testing partner of CAT 2014. Prior to TCS, Prometric India was the Testing Partner for the past 5 years. With the CAT 2014 Results declared, the CAT 2014 scores will be accepted by 13 IIMs with 3,335 seats and over 150 B-schools across India for admisisons to the management programmes. The CAT 2014 exam was held in 354 test centers across 99 cities in India, with about 1,67,830 candidates appearing in the examination.

Your academic career seems very good. You have done good in CAT. 80 - 83 Percentile range shows that you can definitely expect IIM.
Talking about IIMs, as you might have researched about the last few years' cutoff, the cutoff for OBC of all IIMs range from 80 Percentile and above.
As per the rankings of IIMs, the top five IIMs are-
1. IIM Bangalore
2. IIM Ahmedabad
3. IIM Lucknow
4. IIM Calcutta
5. IIM Tiruchirappalli
You should definitely give priority for the above five IIMs and try to get admission there. Considering last few years' cutoff, you should definitely get admission in any of the IIMs.

Hello there. Hope you are doing good. The cutoff for XIMB goes around 90 percentile every year. It could be high or low depending on the cutoff scores that varies every year. Since your score is near to 90 percentile and if you have a work experience that is worth considering for admission into MBA program. Then you can at least give it a try. You never know what will be the exact situation in the upcoming admission processes.
So, my suggest for you is to definitely give it a try.
