Careers360: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested in or did you switch?
Sonalika: Domain: Marketing & Sales.
My work profile is in Sales
I was interested in Finance; I switched my field to Marketing, based on the attributes identified during my MBA course.
Careers360: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?
Sonalika: I have been working as a Management Trainee for 6 months. Learning about products, interacting with clients, and understanding the market – the work profile is challenging but very interesting. As for my career path, my aim is to grow within RDC Concrete in the areas of Sales, Marketing, and Strategic Management.

Careers360: Is the Industry work different from what you learnt at IQ City UWSB?
Sonalika: My college taught me the basics, but the industry's a different ball game. At RDC Concrete, I'm practicing practical applications, client relationship management techniques, and market dynamics. The sales role also teaches me to think on my feet and adapt to different situations. Guess you could say it's a mix of theoretical knowledge and real-world experience!"
Careers360: How do you think your time in college has added value to your life, both professional and personal?
Sonalika: College life helped upgrade my technical knowledge, shape my professional discipline and personal values. Academically, it built my technical base and analytical thinking. Personally, it improved my communication skills, confidence, teamwork, and sense of responsibility, all of which are essential in my professional life today.
Careers360: What was your initial thought process when you joined IQ City UWSB Kolkata?
Sonalika: When I joined college, I was excited but also curious about how the course would shape my future. My primary focus was to gain quality education, learn practical skills, and prepare myself for a successful career in my chosen field.
Careers360: You must have spent a memorable time at IQ City UWSB Kolkata. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
Sonalika: Yes, I truly miss my college days. Some of my fondest memories include classroom discussions, group projects, technical events, cultural programs, and spending time with friends. The guidance from Faculty Members and the supportive campus environment made my college life educational, professional, and memorable.
Careers360: Briefly take us through your life on campus, the activities you used to do, and your daily routine.
Sonalika: My campus life was well-balanced between academics and activities. A typical day included attending lectures, practical sessions, group studies, and interacting with my faculty. I also participated in extracurricular activities and events, which helped me relax and develop my professional skills beyond Academics.
Careers360: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in, and how did they enrich your life?
Sonalika: Apart from academics, I actively participated in cultural events, seminars, workshops, and team activities. These experiences enhanced my leadership qualities, communication skills, and confidence, preparing me for professional interactions
Careers360: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements, and what was the role of the institute in it?
Sonalika: I stay updated through webinars, industry publications, professional networks, training programs, and hands-on project experience. The Institute played a crucial role by organizing industrial visits, expert lectures, and practical exposure, which helped narrow the gap between academics and industry.

Sonalika: The best part of the institute is its experienced Faculty, disciplined academic environment, and focus on overall development. The Institute not only emphasizes education but also nurtures professional ethics and practical learning.
Careers360: What is your suggestion/guidance for the aspirants?
Sonalika: My suggestion to aspirants is to dream high, stay focused, build strong fundamentals, and actively participate in practical learning opportunities. Make the most of Faculty mentorship and guidance, Live Projects, Internships, and campus activities. Consistency, discipline, and a positive attitude will surely lead to success.
