Going by the data of other IIMs, one can see a gradual push for gender diversity across campuses in the MBA program. Let us take a look at some of the following IIMs and how they have performed over the years.
IIM Kozhikode leads alongside IIM Vizag, leading the way for the 2025-27 batch. It enrolled 586 students, where women made up 51% across all three full-time postgraduate programs.
Both IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Lucknow reported about 30% female representation in their 2025-27 PGP cohorts.
IIM Sambalpur surprised many with 76% women in their PGP batch in 2024. At IIM Bangalore, around 40% represented the 2025-26 batch. Last year, in IIM Calcutta, around 36% female students were represented for the MBA program.
On this, IIM Vizag director, Prof M Chandrasekhar, said the institute is a strong advocate for gender diversity, a commitment reflected in the new batch, where over 50% of admitted students were female.
He further added, "At least one female faculty member was present on every interview panel for PGP aspirants this year. The gender balance is also evident in the institute’s faculty demographics, with a female faculty strength of 41% - a figure approaching 50%. With the help of this balanced learning environment, it is believed to be a key factor in attracting more female students, ultimately enriching classroom discussions and enhancing the overall diversity and depth of the academic experience.
In 2024, 3.29 lakh candidates had enrolled for the CAT 2024 registrations, where 1.19 lakhs (36.2%) students were women. Similarly, seeing that IIMs support gender diversity, one can expect that this year too, women will lead the CAT 2025 registrations.
The CAT registration 2025 will begin in the first week of August 2025. Following which, all candidates will be able to apply for the exam by visiting the official website, iimcat.ac.in.
If you are considering pursuing an MBA program at IIM Vishakhapatnam, then you will need to apply through the Common Admission Test (CAT), followed by shortlisting based on CAT scores and other criteria. The last round includes a personal interview, based on which the candidate will be selected.
IIM Vishakhapatnam offers students both need-based and merit-based scholarships and financial aid for pursuing the MBA program. The financial aid policy ensures that no bright student is deprived of education due to their financial condition.
Take a look at the following key points, which talk about how a student can apply for the Need-based scholarship:
Eligibility Criteria: Students with an annual household income below Rs. 6,00,000 are eligible to apply for financial aid.
Application Process: Students need to apply for financial aid, and their applications are reviewed by a faculty panel that assesses their financial need.
Assessment Criteria: The panel will evaluate factors like annual household income, savings, assets, and loan details to determine a Financial-Need Score.
Financial-Need Score: This score determines the recipients and the extent of fee waivers, with full waivers granted to a percentage of students and partial waivers to others.
Key Focus: The primary focus of the aid is on need, not merit.

Hello there. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that all the IIMs only accept CAT score. APICET score or any other entrance exam is not accepted by any of the IIMs. You need to clear the CAT cutoffs to get admission into any of the IIM. I hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future.
Hello aspirant,
Admission in IIMs are dependent upon different criteria while the most important and the thing which carries the most weightage is the CAT scores, For admission in Different IIMs there are different cutoffs while some go upto 99-100 percentile others go up to 80-85 also, it depends on caste and category aswell, other than that in top IIMs you will be able to get admission on the basis of GD scores, PI scores, experience scores, 10th, 12th and graduate percentages etc.
There are a lot of factors associated with admission in IIMs and you can know the required cutoff and more information about it in the following website,

Hello Rasagna...The minimum percentile that is required for any IIMs is 90 for general category and for obc, 75 percentile or above 75 percentile is required in any IIMs...so if you belongs to obc category then you must have minimum 75 percentile in CAT exam...but as you told you have got 45 percentile,it is hard to get a chance on any IIMs...but keep trying...If there is a will there is way...so best of luck for future.
