To apply for the 21-month MBA program, candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs 2000 for General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) category, and Rs 1000/- for SC/ ST/ DAP (Differently Abled Persons). Candidates who have a minimum of 65% in all academic performance and above 85 percentile in CAT 2025 (for reserved category: 55% in academic and 75 percentile in CAT 2025) are eligible to apply for IIT Kanpur MBA Admission 2026.

Candidates who applied for MBA admission to IIT Kanpur will be shortlisted based their CAT Percentile Scores, Academic Background, and Work Experience instead of Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI).

IIT Kanpur MBA Admission 2026: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for IIT Kanpur MBA admission 2026 include the academic qualifications, category, citizenship, etc., which the candidates must meet while filling out the application form. To apply for the academic session 2026-28, an applicant must appear for the CAT 2025 exam.

For the General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) category

• According to the IIT Kanpur MBA eligibility criteria 2026, candidates should secure 65% and above in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations.
• The overall CAT 2025 score should be 85 percentile and above.
• Candidates should complete B.Tech/ B.E./ B.Arch with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class 12 or B. Sc. Engineering/ Bachelor of Science/ Master of Science/ Master of Arts in Economics with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG program with an aggregate of 65% or a CGPA of 6.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognized university, IITs, NITs, and IIITs are eligible to apply for IIT MBA admission 2026.

For SC and ST category

• As per the IIT Kanpur MBA 2026 eligibility criteria, candidates should secure 55% and above in the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations.
• The overall CAT 2025 score should be 75 percentile and above.
• Candidates should complete B.Tech/ B.E./ B.Arch with Mathematics as one of the subjects in Class 12 or B. Sc. Engineering/ Bachelor of Science/ Master of Science/ Master of Arts in Economics with Mathematics as one of the subjects in the UG program with an aggregate of 55% or a CGPA of 5.5 on a scale of 10 from any AICTE recognized university, IITs, NITs, and IIITs are eligible to apply for IIT Kanpur MBA admission 2026.

NOTE: Candidates appearing for the final graduation examination can also apply. Such candidates, if elected, will be admitted on a temporary basis. They must meet all the requirements of the qualifying degree when joining the course.

General Guidelines to apply for admission

Before going out to fill out the application form for IIT Kanpur MBA 2026, candidates should know the general guidelines.

• Payment of the IIT Kanpur MBA application fee is mandatory.
• Submit a separate application form for each program.
• On all the pages where you want to add an additional record (if you want to add two entries to the employment details that represent multiple employers, you have to click the “+” button shown on the page).
• Suppose you are a final year student applying for a postgraduate degree at IITK and you are awaiting your results for the final year. In that case, you can select the result status as “Awaited” on the Education Information page.
• Make sure you have a PDF copy of all relevant documents as they need to be uploaded to the application.

Know how to fill the IIT Kanpur MBA Application Form 2026

To apply for two years full-time MBA program at IIT Kanpur, candidates have to follow the step-by-step process below:

Step 1: First, visit the official website of the IIT Kanpur PG Admission portal -pingala.iitk.ac.in.
Step 2: Then find and click the “New User Register Here” link in the right middle of the webpage.

Step 3: The link will redirect to the new user registration page. From there, the candidates have to enter all the required valid information (First Name, Middle Name and Last Name, Email address, and Date of Birth) and click the “Register” button.

The same data will be used by the computer when filling in your personal details section in the IIT Kanpur MBA application form 2026.

Step 4: Then the 8-digit OTP will be sent to your registered email. Enter the OTP to complete the IIT Kanpur MBA registration process.

Step 5: Log in to the dashboard using the registered mail id and password.

Step 6: Fill out the IIT Kanpur MBA application form 2026 with valid information such as Personal details, Academic detail, Contact details, Category details, and Disability details.

Step 6: Next, choose the program to which the candidate wants to apply for. Then click the “Next” button to move on to the application form page.

NOTE: The site does not automatically store data. Candidates should click on the "Save & Next" or "Save as Draft" button provided on the page.

Step 8: Enter CAT 2025 score details, Work experience (if any), answer the questions in the space provided, and then click “Save Next”.

Step 9: Upload all the required documents in a prescribed format and size.

• Signature: jpg/ jpeg only with a size not more than 500 KB
• Academic certificate: only in PDF format with a size not more than 2 MB
• Caste certificate: only in PDF format with a size not more than 2 MB

Step 10: After successfully uploading the essential documents, click the “Save and Next” button. It will take you to the final process of the application page.

Step 11: Final stage of the application process is payment. To complete the IIT Kanpur MBA application process, candidates have to pay the application fee.
