What Actually Happened With The Student?

This controversy started when a girl who graduated from IIM Bodh Gaya posted on LinkedIn that she got scammed by a job recruiter. She was a fresher and waiting for her placement offer, which she got from a company along with the joining letter and the date of joining. When she reached the job location she didn’t find any company on the location that she was given by the recruiter. She claimed to have spent Rs.75,000 on rent, travel and shifting as she shifted to Delhi alone. Yes, in her post she said that the company did contact her after a few days, telling her that the office building was “Out of Lease”. After apologising for the inconvenience caused to the student by the company, they promised her work-from-home arrangements instead by May 11. To give further assurance to her, the company reportedly kept telling her multiple times that her employee ID was being generated. Also, she was allegedly told multiple times by the company to “wait 2-3 days” and so on. After waiting for a few more weeks, she said that she was informed by the company that no joining would be done before July.

Gives every benefit of the doubt. And the person responsible just disappears.” She wrote. She further added to this- “To every hiring manager reading this: when you don’t show up, we don’t just feel let down. We fall behind on rent. We lose options. We pay the price for your silence.”
