Normalization Process for DU JAT 2019

Delhi University follows the process of normalization in order to score the candidates. Last year, it was officially notified that the aspirants opting for JAT BMS/BBA (FIA) & B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics will undergo this process wherein their marks will be subjected to the Normalization Process called EquiPercentile Equating, a widely adopted & internationally accepted method of score normalization in multi-batch exams. The percentile ranks so derived & equated will be used as input criteria to finalise the merit list. Normalization of obtained scores was exercised after the test on all shifts was concluded for the same subject.

The merit ranking of candidates will be executed on the basis of normalized marks. The following factors have been considered in determining the merit ranking-

  • Number of test takers

  • The difficulty level of examination

  • Maximum marks obtained in the examination

  • Average score obtained by candidates.

How does DU JAT Selection Procedure 2019 work?

Firstly, only the test takers who appear for DU JAT 2019 will be eligible to attend the DU JAT 2019 selection procedure. Secondly, the Course/College preferences mentioned by the eligible candidate during online registration shall be processed centrally for all the rounds of counselling/allotment procedure in an automated manner.

According to the University of Delhi, the conducting body, the selection procedure of DU JAT 2019 is segmentalised into two parts, namely Qualifying examination (Class XII Board) and DU JAT result 2019. The percentage scored in the qualifying examination will be utilised for preparing the rank which will be calculated as the simple average of the percentage scored in the qualifying examination in four subjects: English, Mathematics and any two other listed subjects. The final selection of students will be made on the basis of the following parameters and weightages:

The process of admission that would be followed by the administering authority is Course-College Allotment. According to Delhi University, all applicants are required to fill the application form stating their order of preference of course and college in their online application form. A total number of 21 preferences for female applicants and 17 for male applicants would be made available. The applicants need to choose the course/college combination for each preference in the registration form. It is a mandate to select at least one preference to complete the form and the applicant may desire not to choose additional preferences by selecting ―'No Preference' from the drop-down menu available for both college and course fields.

Aspirants should note that the preference order once submitted cannot be altered once the payment of fee is exercised. The allotment of courses and colleges will be based on the rank secured by applicants and their order of preference of course and college subject to the availability of seats in the respective institutions. The seats available in each course and college in each category will be allotted to the applicants in order of their obtained ranks and preferences until all seats in the particular college-course are filled.

As per DU JAT selection procedure 2019, the allotment of course/college will be done by Delhi University based on the rank secured by the applicant and his/her order of preference of course and college subject to the availability of seats. No alteration will be entertained at any stage of admission. After the aspiring students get shortlisted for the DU JAT 2019 selection procedure they need to abide by the following instructions:
